Your loss, not theirs. Nintendo has more than enough money in the bank to run at a loss (even a loss of 250 million) for like 40 years.

If you can't afford it, that's one thing. Not everyone can.

If you're being stubborn and just saying "others give deals why can't they" well, hey go ahead and cut yourself off from what will be some fantastic games. There's no reason to buy one right now anyways, unless you're a big Zelda and/or open world game fan so just wait and let the library pad itself out over the coming months.

I wouldn't count on a sale any time soon. Maybe in a year or two, but even then that's iffy.

Yeah I switched to the Pro HUD as well. It's really nice, since all the info (outside of the minimap, but I just point myself in a direction and go as opposed to going from quest to quest. Still working on getting all the towers first and grabbing shrines on the way) is presented in other manners.

The only thing that pops up (for me at least, there might be something I'm missing) is that shrine radar. Temperature issues (too cold/hot) is displayed on the character (Link shivering when too cold and will take damage.) The map can be brought up if needed. Sneaking you can normally tell by audio cues if you'll be heard while being stealthy.

Everyone picked up their preorder at my Gamestop.

I think I'll just wait until I can order this thing online, whenever that is.

              Have fun, guys!

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

I grew up on the NES and SNES and really the last Zelda game I played was Link to the Past (was thinking of Link Between Worlds but didn't pull the trigger). I stepped away from Nintendo until the Wii and Wii U (as well as DS and 3DS)...glad I'm back. My 8yo son entered gaming with motion controls because it was accessible to him when he was 2 with the Wii, learned controls with the WiiU, and is all over the Switch. It's fun to see his excitement.

That said, I'm drawn into this Zelda like I was unsure if I could. I just played my first large session last night after everyone went to bed, and before I knew it, 3 hours had passed. I'm not even off the Plateau yet as I just want to check every square inch of the map to see what new his hiding somewhere. I also love the fact that it's not all about rupees and the like...feels more true to life in a way.

I also just got into Metroid Prime for the first time last year (yeah, I'm behind a bit!) when the trilogy was released for $10 on the WiiU virtual console. Oh, how I would love a new Switch version of that series....

I will say I've had more "wow" moments regarding the visuals on the tablet rather than playing on the tv. Both look great however.

This thing is so cool. As someone who toyed with the idea of a 3DS or Wii U for a while I could not be any happier with the Switch. I am blown away by how awesome Zelda looks on the handheld tablet. We had a lot of fun with the Sniperclips demo so I think we will be buying that as well. Even had two friends who knew of the Switch, but were unsure of exactly what it did. Sure enough, after seeing it in action, they plan to pick one up very soon for their household.

As for Zelda. Man, what's not to love. Something new and exciting every turn you take. Spent a solid five hours playing over the weekend and have yet to leave the first plateau. And don't see myself leaving anytime soon, lol.

My only gripe so far is fear of scratching the screen. Had to install extra felt just to be sure. Other than that I can't complain.

Just found a Pro controller at GameStop that someone preordered and didn't pick up. You guys weren't kidding, it's a very well designed controller that feels absolutely perfect in your hand.

How long was the initial charge? Plugged mine up right after church and I'm anxious to test it out.

Should receive the Pro controller tomorrow. Still waiting for the Switch console to become available at Best Buy again since I missed out on it this past Friday but it's all good. Won't be playing Zelda until May at the earliest anyway so im not really in a rush. It's more about having one just so I know I have it when the exclusives come out that I want to play. Thus far, those exclusives are Zelda, Mario and Project Octopath Traveler.

As for Zelda, it looks great for it's art style and direction. However, when compared to a realistic looking game such as Horizon Zero Dawn (which is easily the best looking game this gen), Ghost Recon Wildlands and Forza Horizon 3 which all run in 4K with HDR, im sure people can understand why some gamers are complaining.

Personally, I prefer the realistic looking games over what Zelda looks like simply because im not a kid anymore. I prefer my games to look realistic. And when you own a good 4K HDR TV, you want just that.

To know that Zelda runs BETTER on the handheld in 720P than it does when docked in 900P is not only disappointing, it's insulting and a joke especially when you can imagine what Zelda should have been...below video is running off a Wii U console in 1080P and was from E3 2011. The below video is what I want Zelda to look like. Nintendo can do it if they wanted to. They simply choose not to which is a shame in my opinion. Reason I bring this up is because it DOES affect the GAMEPLAY. When you have slowdown, bad frame rates, bad frame pacing, input lag and bad response time due to the bad frame rate, that directly affects gameplay.

With all of that said, im still buying a Switch but I know what I'll be playing on it. The exclusives and snes/n64 virtual console games.

I've contemplated selling my Xbox One S, but missing out on the EA Access is one primary reason I've held on to it. But I agree. The PS4 and the Switch is truly the best of both worlds when it comes to gaming. I'm extremely happy with my Switch purchase.

This afternoon, I was playing BOTW on the tv for an hour and my son came downstairs and asked if he could play WWE on the PS4. So, I took the tablet and sat there for 35 minutes while he played the PS4 on the tv. Perfect!
