Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I'd have to think it will be changed. It's not like you can hold the portable and have it mirrored on the TV for other players. Requiring handheld mode basically means you're playing by yourself.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
To add on to my comment, the last time I tried to game on the Wii U I bought Donkey King and pro controller. Well, DK apparently requires the pad. I figured all games did.
Worse, because you have to keep the pad charged on a separate base, and that is really inconvenient for a console that got so little play, it gets put away while the console remains plugged in. So I pull the pad out, and it is dead and the cord is missing. My daughter has no idea where it is. Boom. I can't play a game I just bought, with a brand new controller because the bulky and space wasting pad can't be charged. Buying a charger helped, but again, any time I want to play, I have to dig out the pad I hate so I can boot up a game to play on a pro controller.
Seriously, the Switch completely solves that issue. The dock takes up very little space and the pad fits right in it to charge. If I want to play, I just have to pick up my pro controller.
I will also say, that for as well as Nintendo solved this, I've really become addicted to the simplicity of going from TV to gaming on the XB1. Now I have to grab a remote and change inputs on my TV and sound bar to play on the Switch, and then again to watch TV or play on the XB1.
Luckily, the Switch will always be a secondary console, so I can just live with it. But that feature would even diminish how much I will play a PS4, which I'm probably picking up for The Show.
First world problems, I know.

I've had issues connecting to my home wifi. I've tried all of Nintendo's trouble shooting suggestions. Anyone had a similar issue?Favorite Teams:

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Just to start cleaning things up in here, because I've been guilty of it too.
Let's start keeping this thread clean of Zelda stuff, and keep it more focused on the Switch and news/chatter/Q&A about the console itself.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
For what its worth I don't think there is much to talk about out side of Zelda right now. There are like zero good games right now besides Zelda and Mario the next big one is not in till holidays and Splatoon 2 we don't know when it is going to come out or if its single player is going to be much better. Also E3 is close enough that we may not get any thing before that but far enough that rumors have not started up again.Comment

There are plenty of releases coming up, and I'm sure updates and news will be posted about potential firmware updates in the coming days/weeks.
We also do know when Splatoon is coming (July/August, most likely August 18th give or take a week) and there are open beta (public testfire) hours running in 2 weeks over the weekend.badComment

So talk about Zelda in the Zelda thread. If you don't have anything about the Switch to add, then don't post here.

Why August 18th? All we have heard is summer and that could be like any were from June to late September then. While we do need a firmware update so you can back up game saves but we have not heard any thing about that yet.Comment

I was shocked at how much brighter they are in person than seeing pictures of them. They definitely stand out.
