I think there is a chance they show off the console. ESPN has been advertising the PS5 event for this Thursday. So you see how Sony is trying to hype up the event. You don't typically see game Events like that being advertised on live TV. Plus if Sony does worry about leaking, it is better to show it off Thursday because later they wait higher the risk of leaks.

I think HZD2 is a good chance to be shown because the developers were hyping up the event on Thursday and to mark calendars on Twitter, then deleted the tweets.

Im just really looking forward to Thursday and not focus on predictions. But honestly have high expectations since this is first concrete new info since March. Just glad it is Thursday since I'm off.

So PS5 isn't ready, this is all PR, etc... borrowing logic from the Madden Forum.

Was kinda hoping Sony would break the ice and allow others to follow with a stream of information going forward for people to focus on away from current events. A bit bigger than a domestic publisher like EA.

Otherwise, can't fault them at all for the decision.

I just don't think it is a good PR thing to promote a product with all that's going on. I don't see it as PS5 not being ready for this year. They wouldn't have shown ESPN advertisements for the PS5 reveal event if it wasn't going to happen.

I see more events this week and maybe next week being postponed as well. I wasn't surprised at all that this got postponed. Once Madden delayed today's trailer, I knew others would be delayed as well.

Extremely disappointing that this was put of. I know there are bigger things going on in the world but there always is more important things going on then video games, and we don't stop giving news for like shootings, natural disasters etc. This really makes no sense, and with the way this year is going really needed something to look forward to. I have a hard time with depression and this year with no sport for months now, and not being able to go to the movies etc has not helped has I have nothing to escape from the real world, and to distract me. Really need some positive news for once but nope just more negativity in a negative year. Hopefully we don't have to wait to long but who knows.

I don't mean to speak for them with this, but it very well could be perception-based or attention-based. I can see a lot of people that would take offense to them continuing with this when "there are bigger things going on," and much the same I could see Sony not drawing as big of a crowd since everyone is drawn to something else at the moment.

At the same time, it's also probably just the right thing to do, so I'm sure their stance is a moral one as well as it is a logical/strategical one.

Although I don’t agree with the decision, Nintendo did delay a Direct due to a natural disaster so similar things have happened.

I'm so curious to what the SSD will allow sports games to finally do that devs haven't been able to for years and years.

Maybe have the ability to create new gameplay mechanics that weren't possible before. It's easier to think of SSD benefits for open world versus a sports title outside of faster loading times. Maybe SSD makes it easier to branch in/out of animations

I'm more curious to see if the stronger CPU allows these sports games to have better AI. CPU AI improvements is my main wish for all titles, not just sports. Having smarter and capable NPCs leads to better, challenging experiences.
