I’ve done this since it was added to the PS4. I always dim the lights. I’ve never been able to game for 10 hours on one charge. In fact I don’t ever think I’ve ever heard anyone getting 10 hours. I’m usually around half that.

There has been some reports that some pre-orders were being cancelled in the UK. Also, and I think it was Amazon, sent emails out saying something like we can't guarantee that you will get it on release day. But people have said that that's just Amazon covering themselves.

So it just gives me anxiety about it.

No it's just a regular controller. I have two both rest in a charging station when not in use. I've been home since Tuesday the 13th with a foot injury. Both Tuesday and Wednesday I gamed all day from 8:00 am until 5:00pm so yeah 9 hours not 10 , at this point when I check my controllers charge on my console it still shows one of the 3 bars. I do a lot of long gaming sessions and have never had an issue with my controller needing a recharge. But when not in use they are always in the charge station.

On my Xbox one X I use rechargeable batteries they last for around a full week of long days gaming. I actually prefer using batteries , wish Sony had that option. Again I have two sets of batteries, one set is always fully charged.

I hate batteries because if I forget to buy and it runs out, am screwed.

This is why I have the elite 2 controller which comes with its own rechargeable base.

I hope that the bigger dual sense battery will help offset the new features the controller has that is going to work the battery

lol good point...I have kids and we go through batteries a lot, so i'll end up ordering on Amazon and they get here in a day max, so it's not too bad. I used to go to Costco more, but with Covid we aren't shopping as much out.

Mine is the same way, I haven’t even dimmed mine but I can easily play 6+ hours without a charge then I just dock it overnight. I have two controllers and really only even use one.

Weak move by MS to not have the UI on series X be 4k....I know on xbox one x they claimed it was going to be 4k until devs told them that the extra 1gb of ram would help in games. But this is a far superior machine and should have the UI at 4k. It might not mean much to many but when you tell me the most powerful console it cannot have old resolution as the main thing you see when you turn the damm box on.

No chance that 1gb of ram is going to make a huge difference and I bet many devs will not even use that extra gig. On PS4 PRO vs XBOX ONE X there were many devs that released games at same resolution

I hope they fix it with a patch

Don't see the big deal, less important for MS. They will continue to evolve the console OS over it's lifetime whereas with Sony what launches is largely what you get for the entire generation. That's long been the difference between a software company making a console vs consumer electronics company making a console.

Personally, if it was up to me, I would have had 12GB of RAM at that higher speed for games and 4GB for the UI/dashboard at 1080P. It's a dashboard, are "gamers" (and I use that term loosely) really going to spend more time on a dashboard than actually playing games? Would much rather see the extra GB of RAM go to developers for games instead of the UI/dashboard. Seriously, what's next? HDR or Ray Tracing on the UI/dashboard??? LMFAO. SMH.

I kinda of see both arguments, but I myself feel a bit disappointed that the most powerful console will still have the UI in 1080p. Maybe I got a little spoiled but I like and prefer the crispy 4k UI. In the end if I had to choose I rather they use the extra ram for the games but I myself wish the UI was 4k.

If multiplat games come out and have the same resolution on both ps5 and series x then they better put 4k on the UI because that 1 gig is not making a difference when your console is already superior in every way except ssd speed
