For those of us that collect, the disc version is 100% the preferred version.

As long as there is a disk option, I will always choose that. Nothing beats having a physical copy.

          I will say it again..

You are saving $100 up front but the cost of digital is way beyond physical copies in the long run.

You are going to spend way more than $100 with digital only. If you don’t like a game? Tough luck.

I wanted digital only but the more I read and the more I thought about it, $100 more, no reason to not get the disk version IMO.

Also, if sales were like PC, digital would make more sense, they’re not. Games that are $9.99 in store are still $59.99 on PSN. At $69.99, digital going to get expensive very quick.

Off topic, will we be able to game share like with the PS4?

Playstation store has sales all the time. You may have to wait a little longer for digital sales on AAA games, but they're available.

Trading in used games is still the big advantage for discs.

I didn’t say they didn’t have sales at all. I said if they were on sale like they are on PC, it would make going digital a super easy decision. However, as a PC and PS4 digital gamer, I can 100% promise you, it’s not close.

My point is, the $100 you save going digital is going to be spent very quickly. It’s just the way it is. I am mainly speaking to those upset they’re stuck with the disc edition.

If digital works for you, rock on.

                Edit::

To clarify, on PC, you can get a $59.99 game for around $40-50 on any release very easily (preorders from green man gaming, steam deals, etc). Console digital games have never and will never be like that.

I haven’t bought a disk game in years and don’t mind saving $100.

That is great, if you do not collect gaming stuff. For those of us who buy collector's editions of games, or those people that trade their games in, digital makes no sense.

There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to physical or digital.

I've seen games on psn for waaay cheaper then in stores quite often. I'm also in Canada so there's that.

I think it’s more of the idea that the physical doesn’t,air you stuck in a decision. If I see a physical disc version on sale? I can get that. If I see digital on sale? I can get that. For us sports fans physical still makes sense because keeping say mlb 16,17,18,19 in 2020 makes no sense. Rather trade in yearly released sports games, even if it’s for 5-10 bucks because I don’t need any coasters.

Yea this is huge. I would assume it would, but you never know with Sony since they haven’t been the most consumer friendly with the ps5 so far.

That's where I'm different. I've kept every sports game I've ever purchased because I like the way it looks in my collection. The only Madden I don't have is Madden 25 with Peterson on the cover, and that's because I didn't buy the PS4 right away.
