      Re: PlayStation 5

Trying to acquire a PlayStation 5 has been impossible to where it's not worth going nuts over when I can wait a few months for the console to be in stock on a regular normal basis and just buy it with no issues.

It took me two months two finally secure an Xbox Series X from GameStop and I had to buy the bundle (ugh) but im glad that I will finally have the console and get back to playing games after a three month break.

Back to PlayStation 5, since Returnal is releasing in March, im expecting Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart to be May or the Summer which is when I will look to buy the PlayStation 5. After I setup the console, first thing im doing is turning off all of that vibration/feedback garbage. Not a fan of any of it and I don't care who implements it.

Once I do that next Spring/Summer, I'll play Miles Morales (which I currently own on disc) and then Rift Apart. Looking forward to the (now) current generation of gaming as it's going to be amazing!!!

Got one Christmas morning and loving it. Parents knew I was looking for one. I never mentioned I wanted it for Christmas, but somehow they had found one. I was absolutely floored when I opened it. Probably one of the biggest Christmas surprises I’ve ever had

Same. It's amazing. I bought 2K and have played a ton, along with my Madden league. Already on my second playthrough of Miles Morales. It increased the frame rate on Cities for me. Just love it

My surgery on my neck to remove a branchial cleft cyst went well this morning, and the doctors advised me to take it easy for the next week. Told them that was the best news I couldve gotten because ive got this with me at home LOL.

            Happy gaming week!

I was expecting ratchet and clank to be feb or march but that was before Returnal was give its release date. Now I am wondering if it might be April. If it was feb I would think we would know by now unless its maybe late feb. If its summer that is kind of a bummer has it was said to be a launch window game and that is later than launch window but I know delays happen but with how much we have already seen I thought it would be sooner than summer. There is also keena Bridge of spirts to that was supposed to be a launch game before it got pushed back and we still dont know its release date either. You would think maybe it or ratchet could be feb and the other one like April or something but with feb again you would think we would known by now.

My thinking is that Ratchet got pushed back a little bit. Could be April as that was my original prediction but that was before Returnal got dated for March 19th so now, im thinking more like May/June. Launch window is 6 months after launch but Sony already pushed back Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon 2 from the first half of 2021 to the second half and I can easily see Horizon 2 get pushed to 2022.

Kena is a timed console exclusive but as far as I know, Sony has nothing to do with publishing the game. I can see this as the small April game with Deathloop on May 21st. Sony paid for timed exclusivity for Deathloop (and Ghostwire Tokyo later in 2021) so I don't see them putting a major title of theirs around it because to do so would be like throwing money away.

I always thought Ratchet would be first, Returnal second and GT 7 third for 2021 but Ratchet/Returnal have been flipped. I can see Ratchet as a good summer game with GT 7 being Sony's fall game.

I do know this though - for AAA titles, games normally get at least 3 months between release and release date announcement due to marketing. So if Ratchet is April for example, I would expect to see the release date announcement trailer in January.

If not, then for every month that passes, add another month. So right now would be April. Once February hits, move Ratchet to May, etc.

My biggest concern with it is the wear and tear on the controller. It's still too early to tell if that will be a problem.

I had a lot of issues with stick drift with Dualshock 4 controllers playing FPS and from what I understand it's the same stick/sensor in this controller. A lot of random vibration just doesn't seem good for electronic components.

Luckily Battlefield V controller settings were customizable and it was correctable with deadzone settings, but it could be a problem. I think Astro's Playroom is really cool when my kids play it but it gives me a small bit of anxiety thinking about the controller

I actually bought an extended warranty on the controller because of those concerns.

The Dualsense is a bit more advanced than past Sony controllers. For all we know it could have (or will have) software that automatically corrects stick drift, if it happens to occur. Not sure how Sony tests things but depending on the product companies run multiple stress test until failure. Companies have a general idea how long their products should last under normal circumstances.

Personally I'm not worried about the controller it's more likely to stop working/have issues because it gets knocked to the floor one to many times versus the vibration it was designed to handle. To each their own though.

If one bought four different controllers but only got an extended warranty on one of them, the store wouldn't know which one it specifically was if one of those four went defunct, correct?

I think it's safer to assume that only one would go bad out of the four, and it might be worth the investment to only do that once for all four of the controllers that you have if that event occurs. But if it's somehow only tied to a specific controller, I don't know if I'd want to do that for all four controllers. Might as well just get another controller to cover all of that.

I don't think so, but what I'm talking about is more noticeable on games where there's a lot more precision movement like a FPS. Most people probably wouldn't even notice it unless they are just critical about that sort of thing or the game allows them to customize the setting to lower it down to even 0 like a Battlefield game does. A lot of games seem to have it built in because natural wear and tear happens even on the best controllers.
