Re: PlayStation 5
Yeah though I'm not a huge cod fan that would be a shame.. there needs too be laws in place to stop monopolies as it's not fair to the consumer..

This isn’t a monopoly by definition though. They came to Microsoft and they were acquired.

Peter420 I get what you are saying about Batman I was just more saying that rocksteady has shown how good of a studio they are and how big it would be to get a studio like them.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Resistance, Killzone, The Order... some good opportunities with 1st party IP that they've done nothing with for sometime that the COD formula could apply to in some forms.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Resistance. We need a new, good, Resistance game. That multiplayer mode on 3 I really liked what little I saw, but didn't have people to play it with.

I would love to see a Resistance reboot.
Unfortunately, I don’t know if Sony feels the same. Reportedly, Sony Bend pitched a new Resistance game after having a sequel to Days Gone shot down. Sony rejected that too and I think put them on TLoU remake.
Maybe they just didn’t like the pitch, but that doesn’t sound like a company interested in reviving Resistance any time soon.

Edit: now that im not on my phone, the source article is a good read for context and how this is so much more than about consoles. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articl...on-acquisition
A key piece to me:
Cole notes that Microsoft is increasingly able to go beyond competing with Sony in the console space, and instead compete against the likes of Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple in the broader interactive entertainment sector.
"The games industry has become a much larger space and Sony and Nintendo struggle to compete at a higher strategic level," he explains. "So a long-term question is can Sony and Nintendo, the two smaller -- but still huge in the game space -- Japanese companies that have huge consumer appeal compete in the long term as the industry becomes much broader?

Re: PlayStation 5
We got a PS5 for Christmas. I used to be a big gamer but now its now more for my kids.
It's an impressive piece of equipment. The load times alone make it worth the costs. There just aren't a lot of next-gen games to take advantage of it though.
No regrets at all but but it feels like a device that is WAY ahead of its time.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Phil Spencer - @XboxP3Had good calls this week with leaders at Sony. I confirmed our intent to honor all existing agreements upon acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of our industry, and we value our relationship.
A concrete reason for fans to not lose hope, and perhaps this will provide more inroads to them working together more on other things.Comment
