Re: PlayStation 5
Definitely bad for consumers. If Microsoft turns some of those huge IPs exclusive, Sony would have to find a way to compete or they'll be in trouble. Maybe Sony caves to letting GamePass on their platform - for a chunk of the revenue - but if the end result is Microsoft being the only console on the market, that's bad news for everyone.
Nintendo still exists, of course, but they don't compete with these two. They have their own (relatively large) niche.Comment

What worries me is if we get a tiny hawk 3-4 remake or something has I love Tony hawk and don't want to have to get a Xbox for just Tony hawk.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
This is a sports gaming forum, so let’s not forget that one of the best Sony exclusive franchises (MLB The Show) just went to Microsoft last year because it meant more money for the company making the game.

Re: PlayStation 5
If Playstation owners are worried about Call of Duty, or other franchises, going console exclusive, they probably should be. It's a valid concern.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Microsoft bought Activision for $70 billion. Is Call of Duty going to be exclusive?
https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/st...5Es1_&ref_url=
Once the Activision Blizzard acquisition is legally finalized, all new future game releases will be fully exclusive to Xbox/PC/Cloud/Game Pass. Games that have been or will be released before this occurs will all stay as is. COD Warzone for example will stay as is but COD 2023 or whichever one is the first released under Microsoft will be fully exclusive.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
I think a few things that sony will do to like combat this big xbox get are the following.
1. I know sony dosnt have the money that Microsoft to say buy WB or something but I think they buy rocksteady. That would be pretty big considering the success of the batman Arkham games and the fact suicide squad looks really good.
2. Insomanic is a great developer has multiple teams and is pretty fast. Sounds like they have like at least 3 teams may even have 4. I think they expand even more by like 1 more team
3. Insomanic lots of rumors about them working on some kind of Multiplayer game. I dont care for FPS at all but the loss of COD on playstation is big has a lot of casual gamers play COD and get systems like just for that. I think this multiplayer game will be a shooter to compete with COD.Comment

Edge cases like Deathloop for the Bethesda/Zenimax deal will surely be a temporary exception, but don't see a reason to expect multiplatform releases similar to what's happened with titles like Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
Could have been worded more tentatively or as speculation, but given available data it's expected by investors, and the future headwinds that result have dropped Sony's value $20 billion in the last day. Shares continue to edge downward today.

I do not see Microsoft throwing away 15 million, or roughly $1 billion in sales of Call of Duty every year. I do see them putting things on Xbox first, or obviously flipping back to releasing DLC on their console first.
