Something I was thinking about is that Tony hawk 1-2 remake ps5 version has a 120 FPS option I think on that option you get like 1080p-1440p or something instead of 4k. With VRR any chance 120 FPS could be at 4k now or at least be at 4k and fell like 120 FPS even if its not?

Re: PlayStation 5
What do you guys think about the toggle to force VRR onto all games? Smart to turn on, or better to leave that off? Not sure I fully understand the pros/cons there.LG 77CX OLED / Sonos Arc Soundbar / Xbox Series X / Apple TV 4KComment

Re: PlayStation 5
I can’t see what the downside would be, unless there are some as of yet unknown glitches on Sony’s end.
I feel like most developers target as stable as possible 30/60 fps modes on console already, so unless a game has been patched to take advantage of VRR, you’ll probably be hard pressed to notice much of a difference.
But take a game like Elden Ring for example. I haven’t played it yet, but it sounded like there were some areas that dipped from 60fps into the 40s. Hopefully, going forward these dips would be less noticeable with VRR forced on.

Re: PlayStation 5
I feel almost bad about saying this because of some of the horror stories I've heard re: PlayStation Direct wait times, but I was able to secure one only a couple of weeks after signing up. Definitely sign up for it if you haven't already!
My feelings on the console design itself are still mixed; I appreciate Sony trying something a bit bold/futuristic, but I do wish it was a bit more stable/aesthetically pleasing in its horizontal orientation. Also, it's tough to not feel like the disc drive was an afterthought.
The UI/Home Screen is absolutely gorgeous, though. A definite step-up from PS4 in that regards, IMO!MLB: San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics (Sell The Damn Team, Fisher!)

Re: PlayStation 5
Unrelated, a couple days after users reported things not working properly to renew PS+ / PSNow Sony confirms they have disabled extending existing memberships to combat all the code stacking going on, and released a guide to how future codes will be redeemed and converted into the new system.
Some have reported that even if their membership has now expired, they are unable to add time to their accounts due to Sony trying to prevent people from stacking up time on their accounts before the conversion to the new PSN.Last edited by mestevo; 04-29-2022, 09:37 PM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
In the MLB The Show forum, guys are saying it is causing frame dips. Most have taken to turning VRR off and 120 off in PS5 settings.Comment

Re: PlayStation 5
I'm interested in the Extra tier. That tier has ganes included that would make it worth upgrading. Premium doesn't interest me at the moment. Don't care about Game Trials and none of the classic games interest me like that. Surprised they didn't have any of the Metal Gear games in the classic tier.Comment

They said it’s not all of them so maybe they will still come.

Re: PlayStation 5
That does make me change the way how I approach getting Exclusive games. If it's eventually going to end up on PS Plus Extra a year and half plus, then it might make sense to wait. Especially when most of the patches go throughComment

Re: PlayStation 5
The U+ stuff is confusing, because Ubisoft+ and Ubisoft+ Classics sound like 2 different subscriptions to me the way it's worded, or 2 diffferent press releases they condensed into one maybe? Valhalla is the latest AC game, don't see why it would be part of a 'classics' subscription. Seems like unnecessary or confusing branding on it. WIth Sony's PS+ setup I'd have thought classics might be a PS Now channel, while Ubisoft+ would be closer to what's on PC.
Looks like they're calling one sub classic to make it clear there's another sub for day 1 releases?
Ubisoft+ is Coming to PlayStation and Ubisoft+ Classics will bring 27 games to PlayStation Plus beginning May 24th
Ubisoft+ will come to PlayStation in the future, bringing access to more than 100 titles, additional content packs, and rewards to the platform. The subscription service is currently available on PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna, offering players day-one releases, classic games, and premium editions, and ultimately will be available on PlayStation and Xbox.
Ubisoft also revealed that beginning May 24, it will launch a new Ubisoft+ subscription for PlayStation Plus called Ubisoft+ Classics. Ubisoft+ Classics on PlayStation is a curated selection of popular games, including top-selling Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, The Division, and For Honor, as well as beloved classic games like Child of Light, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Watch Dogs, Werewolves Within, and more. The Ubisoft+ Classics catalogue for PlayStation Plus will launch with 27 titles and will grow to 50 by the end of 2022 – check out the full list of Day 1 games below:

“With Ubisoft+ Classics, we’re providing PlayStation players with another way to enjoy Ubisoft games on their consoles,” said Chris Early, Ubisoft’s senior vice president of partnerships. “This is just the beginning, as we will ultimately make Ubisoft+ available to PlayStation owners as we continue to build our vision and provide players with more options to access their favorite games, wherever they are.”
Ubisoft+ Classics will launch bundled with the PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium subscription tiers on May 24 in Asia (June 2 in Japan), June 13 in North and South America, and June 23 in Europe.
