Re: Another HDTV questions info thread

Well, I found a new CRT that I can get for $399 (originally $499 plus a code that takes $100 off), and it doesn't support 720p. So, if I upconverted to 1080i, would I be able to watch things like ESPN (that, like I said, supports 720p) in Hi-Def still, even though my T.V. doesn't actually have 720p?

    Thanks.

The specs will tell you if the TV supports 720p.. Most new CRTS upconvert 720p to 1080i anyways.. Even if the TV doesn't you can watch ESPN on HD cable.. The set top box that the Cable company provides let you change the resolution on it.. 720p/1080i.. & the 360's scaler will scale all games to your TV's highest r esolution.. Either way you are covered..

            So, here's that TV:

What do you think? Worth it (for gaming and sports ONLY)?

For the price.. Yes.. Personally, I feel that Phillips is 2nd tier when it comes to CRT's.. But the for price it's hard to beat & will be good for gaming/Sports..

Hey Kool. Last time I was wondering about HDTV's you suggested one and gave me a link to it, but it seems to be discontinued and therefore out of stock most places. Do you know of any other HDTV's similar to it, in terms of specs and price. It was a 30", but I think I could live with a 27" for awhile. I just want to pick up a nice HDTV before I pick up the next Xbox, one that I could probably keep with me for 3-5 years.

Here's the link to jog your memory.

Check out this price for a 51" HDTV!

                  No 720p, but that's okay, I guess.

Hey I got my X-Box HD Pack today and hooked it up, I set all three options in the X-Box set up (480, 720, 1080) since my TV is compatible. However, playing Halo 2, red appears on the screen as green. Anyone know what that is?

My girlfriend just got an HD and wants me to hook things up for her but I know nothing. She has a DVD/VCR two in one deal. Where do I hook that up?

Red and white are audio, and the yellow is video. Just use input 1 and match the colors up on the back on the TV.
