Yet I caught some of the Arena Bowl on NBC on Saturday and they were broadcasting 1080i and Dolby Digital! That's a good sign for Sunday Night Football this year!
I think it's like Johnny stated. My TV's native resolution is 720p and looks much better on 720p stations than 1080i. I'm surprised they only used Pro Logic though. I thought MNF was in DD 5.1 and figured they'd do the same with basketball.

TNT has just never been real good for me. Everything looks a little bit off.

I also don't have DTV so that might be why. My local cable company is actually VERY good. However, I'm getting Verizon FiOS once that's offered.

Hopefully NBC's Sunday Night games look good. MNF on ABC last year looked incredible in 720p.

Let me know how he is.

I saw he was $375 for ISF calibration. I'd definately consider if he's good. I used a DVD to calibrate my TV, but I'm always wondering if I can get it to look better.

He told me $295, at least that's what he quoted me and that was for everything. We'll see, he said it takes like 6 hours.

I just got the $$$ amount off his website. He probably changes depending on type of TV and possibly location. Not a bad deal.

6 hours! Damn, I'll have to find something to do for a long time.

Let me know how he does man because that is who serves Richmond, VA too and I'm going to have him do my set by the start of the football season.

Also, am I the only one that worries if this ChadB comes and starts doing things to the tv he's going to find something wrong and say "your such and such is hosed" and then you gotta it fixed? It may not even be something a normal person who wouldn't do calibration would get fixed but just something that us technophiles would worry about.

Like him saying "oh your such and such is like 2 degrees off but I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you're real picky". I think that's something I tend to worry about him doing, I wonder how often that occurs when he does calibrations.

Well I finally pulled the trigger and laid out $2699. Here is what I got...the Samsung DLP HLS-5088 50" screen:

And I got this Sony Up-converting DVD free
              http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ist&sku=417423

They said I should get it a week from Monday (the shipping was free for curbside) but I won't be able to actually set it up and use it until I get a TV stand, which I will buy next Friday. So in a couple weeks I'll be ready for NCAA 2006 360! WOOT!

Mine's a tube though, he said they take longer. He does ever single input on the TV as well, I have 7 inputs too.

He won't say anything unless your TV is really fudged. In fact, after reading the stuff on AVS, it seems that a lot of the general complaints (color uniformity, overscan, etc) are easily correctable on most sets.

I envy you guys...I wish I could get a good ISF out here in Boise. I just have to hope that when we relocate within the year that there's a good guy near me.

Just turned the game on ABC to see about the audio. I wonder if it's a DTV thing because it's definately in DD 5.1 for me.

Yeah I have the same problem. I don't think it is a DTV problem, because the others work great, but maybe it is! It does suck big time!

                            Gentlemen,
What's the verdict on this Sammy...bedroom TV. Anyone have this or seen it? It really caught my eye in the store. The picture was incredible crisp compared to the other HDTVs set up next to it. I sure hope it's a good one. Thanks in advance.

Also, what in the world does 720p mean?

It is, but only with ABC. I get DD with everything else. Gonna suck for college football.

Well I'm pretty impressed with Vanns so far, I just got a call and my TV is ready to be delivered tomorrow. Considering it was free shipping and that I ordered Thursday evening/Friday AM before I went to bed and the TV is already here in Richmond that is very impressive. Once again, that is free ground shipping service!

However I'm going out of town so I told them i'd have to have it delivered next Monday or Tuesday. Figures the one time I'm not ready to have it sent so fast, they do. In about 8 or 9 days I should be using my big@ss TV and ready for 360 NCAA!
