I have a Samsung TS160 HD receiver from Direct TV I got last October for $399 special they had http://www.thesatelliteguy.com/TSG_SAMSUNG-TS160.html
I don't record much but I probably would record more if I had Tivo. I have a Phillips DVD recorder that I hardly use.

I just picked up the SA 8000HD from Adelphia, it's the HDTV receiver with 2 tuner DVR built in. It works very nice, I can record to HDTV programs at the same time and watch a 3rd taped program. Has a 160GB HD and PIP features. I have the CART qualifying on HDNET and ESPNHD both on right now. Very impresed, don't know if I will leave Adelphia now. Comcast also seems to be getting the same box as is Time Warner.
