forgot to mention, make sure you turn down the contrast and brightness on your TV. I am guessing it is set pretty high from the factory (most tv's are). I would turn them down to at least 50% or lower. It is really better for your TV and will help so you never get Burn in. ALso, Stretch the image when you are watching non HD material.

Yes there are no games tha support 1080i. In the progressive system for example, 720 lines are presented to the human eye every 1/60th of a second while the so-called 1080I system presents only 540 lines. So proggresive is better than interlaced.

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread

You guys seem to know a fair amount HDTV's so here goes........

I'm looking to buy an HDTV, been putting it off for some time now. I currently own a 32" Sony Wega which is fine but the future of TV is in HDTV so I wanted to upgrade.

I'm looking at these two TV's

42" Grand WEGA™ LCD Rear Projection
                    HDTV

                    34" Widescreen XBR® HDTV

                    http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INT...t_03-KD34XBR960

I know Sony TV's are pricey but I'm setting my budget at $2500-$3000 so price really isn't a problem.

Thanks for any help you can provide advance!

glad you like it. I have CBS and NBC in HD, as well as ESPN. I really wish I had Fox and ABC as well.

If you are a big movie guy like me, now you get the fun task of replacing all your old DVDs for the new special releases of them so you get the better transfers and anamorphic widescreen.

Glad you are enjoying it, playing video games on a small screen will never be the same.
