Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
I just checked the user manual for my TV and it does state that PIP does not work in HDMI mode. So that's my problem.Originally posted by p_rushing

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
I was asking about a HDTV this Summer and Kool suggested this set.
I love it, sounds like a great deal, but I cannot find it anywhere. Can anybody help find another one similar (price and specs) or know of an online site that has this television in-stock?

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
The Wal-Mart site has the television as "Out of Stock." I'll check Wal-Mart and Circuit City when I'm in town Tuesday.
Is there any TV similar to that, for like 500-600?

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
Probably a dumb question, but I was messing around tonight with my STB and TV.
I got into the configuration of my STB and noticed that it's outputting at 720p (native resolution of my TV). I switched it to 1080i just to see if there was any difference. I realize my TV is converting it to 720p, but I swear it looks even better. I went back and forth numerous times and swear the 1080i looks better.
Maybe it's all in my head. I've always heard to set your STB to the native resolution of your TV for best results.
Any ideas or is this all in my head?Comment

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
I have a 52" RCA HDTV with Cox Digital Cable including the HD package for $5. I get ESPNHD, CBSHD, Discovery HD, some "IndHD" channels that play random shows (some football, some regular TV shows) and other channels.
The set top box did not come with DVI plugs but the next step down (not sure what exactly they are called). Is the connection with DVI that much better that I should go out and get the DVI cables?
Also, I have my X-Box connected to that TV via Component using the regular A/V cables. The picture is really crisp (I only have Halo 2). I don't know much about 1080i, 480i, 720p, etc. but what would you suggest I do for playing X-Box?Comment

component ? Component cables are Red, Blue and Green. Composite cables are Red, White and Yellow. Which one are you using for our cable box ?????
Do you mean COMPOSITE cables?? The ones that came with the xbox???? If that is what you are using, your best bet would be to get the "HD PACK" from ebgames or gamestop for $20 . It comes with all the cables and everything you need. You just need to go into the xbox dashboard (turn the xbox on with no game in) and set the video setting to "wide screen" and enable 480p, 720p and 1080i .Also, I have my X-Box connected to that TV via Component using the regular A/V cables. Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
I realize that I could read through this entire thread and not have to ask this question, but whatever.
I'm thinking about spending some extra money when the Xbox 360 releases and grabbing an HDTV for my room. Nothing crazy, roughly a 30 incher or so. Any suggestions for the roughly $800-900 price range?
Thanks guys.Comment

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...72282&v=glanceOriginally posted by koolbubbaiceThe best 26inch CRT HDTV on the market is the panasonic.. Been getting a lot of 5's by readers at circuitcity.com. Cost like 575.00.. BUT I'd recommend it over the Advent, Magnavox, & Phillips brand.. But the Panasonic doesn't support 720p or has a built in tuner.. If having a built in tuner is a must them go with my prior recommendations for your price range..
