So why did I buy into the technology for? I mean, if it doesn't look better, is there any reason to buy one? Could save quite a bit of money if you just went 720p/1080i, right? Maybe I just made the 1080p jump too quickly. Anything in the forseeable future that's going to make me say, "Dang, I wish I would have stuck w/ the 1080p?"

I'm sure it looks better, and technically it should. I'm just saying I couldn't tell the difference. I can't tell the difference in 720p/1080i, and people claim they can as well.

The tv will only do 1080p over HDMI cable. So until xbox releases a HDMI calbe for the 360, I won't know. But HD-DVD's and HD broadcast look amazing.

Ah, gotcha... I'm not sure. What do you all think? Save quite a bit of money, and stick 720p/1080i, or go with another 1080p set? I mean, the Sammy is a REALLY nice tv... but I just really can't tell that much of a difference in the resolutions. With that said, it's also one of the first true 1080p sets... so that could be a reason as well.

If you already have a 61" Sammy that is capable of 1080P, then I don't see why you need another TV. My SXRD is great, but I think the Sammy's are great TVs as well.

I would just stick with what you got.

Getting ready to sell the Sammy to my uncle, and going to make a VERY slim profit... but still, profit nonetheless.

Will, lately it seems like your going with the motto.........."if it isn't tied down it's going to be sold". LOL!

:y4: Well, my uncle wanted the TV from the moment he seen it at my place. Long story short, I got a REALLY good deal on it... and after watching BD's on my 32" LCD, and comparing the picture w/ the Sammy DLP, I wasn't really as impressed with it as I thought I was. Which led me to look for something else, lol.

But yeah, I have a tendency to sell things that aren't in my current "want" list. But it keeps my hobbies less expensive this way at least.

I highly recommend the Sony 1080p set. Should work great with your PS3. And it even matches your PS3.

:y4: I'm not sure if I'm going to get something else for a while. I may pick one up within the month, but I doubt before Feb-March at the earliest.

Go buy the 50 or 55" SXRD and enjoy it. What's the point in waiting?

The 50 is 2399 and the 55 is 2499 at Best Buy right now. That means you could probably have the 50 for 2099 and the 55 for 2299. We know you aren't waiting a month or two.

50" for $1700 at Frys. Go for it Will.

The 55" is only 1900 there. You should be able to print those off and have BB/CC price match it.
