maybe it should be the classic american pc love story. Not my cup of tea, one for religious reasons, and second I don't like chick flicks.

....and therein lies the irony of the "closed-minded" vs "open-minded" arguement. Actually, if being open-minded means being accepting to all points of view, attitudes and ideas, then you have just denoted yourself as being closed-minded. If you called him closed-minded for not watching the movie because he can't accept watching gay sex, then you are not accepting his stance and attitude.....thus, you are being close-minded.

What we are talking about here is being discerning as it relates to one's value system. Let's take an extreme example. Mafia believe that if you wrong someone in the family, you could pay with your life. So if you're "open-minded", you should be okay with that, because that's their way of looking at the matter and think about it. If you don't....does that make you a "mafiophobe"? Of course not. Now back to the movie being like any other. Should I allow my 7 year old son to watch this? No? Well why not if it will educate him as to what is involved with gay involvement? So therefore, it's not simply about interest, but also has heavy connection to values, principles and morals.

The use of the term "open-minded" has historically been misused and misunderstood. Acceptance of everything to somehow denote that you are a completely tolerant person is not only foolish, it's just plain dangerous.

Oh yeah, and if you don't really consider totally and completely what I've just said.....you're being closed-minded.

No... because mine was a statement of fact. The "gay sex" in this movie is largely spooning and other forms of embrace. Also, BK did indeed spoon me.

Wait...I'm trying to process what you just said. Just because I dont see his stance makes me close minded? He said he wont watch a movie just because of one understandably serious detail. There are words to describe what he may truly be but I dont know him well enough to label him. As for me....wait, I'm confused. Lets just get back on topic. We'll drop the open-minded-closed-minded discussion for now.

As I see it they are attempting to build a love story around gay sex. Something I in noway judge, but don't happen to agree with nor want to see. How many of you would go watch a movie about a son having sex with his mother? or a grown man having sex with a 10 year old?(I think the movie Lolita, with Jeremy Irons was about this topic) Or a love story etc... does the fact that they build a love story around it make a difference? Again, count me as one that rejects the premise or crux of the movie. I am not closed minded, I have explored the many arguments and discussions concerning the topic in this movie. I choose not to watch it, that doesn't mean I disagree your choice if you choose to.
