I go to a used book store here and they have pretty much anything that's not brand new. I bought 4 Dan Brown Books and Body Farm by Patricia Cornwell for 12 bucks total. Those five books would have cost 40 if I had went to a new bookstore.

Re: Official OS Book Club
Im currently reading The Beatles by Bob Spitz, its a really lengthy biography that just came out at the end of 2005. Im about halfway through, and I have just gotten to the year 1964 and the Beatles first trip to the US, so theres definitely a ton of stuff on the bands early years before they hit it big, 400+ pages. Its a really well written book, a must for any Beatles fan, but it does get long winded at times.Founder/President of the OS Rams ClubComment

Re: Official OS Book Club
Currently reading the autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr.....really just an edited collection of all his writings, personal notes, and communications from the different stages in his life. I rarely get truly moved by things that I read, but man, his writings are simply unreal.
Last sports related book I read was "Running with the Buffaloes" about the Colorado Cross Country Team- that is an awesome book. It is unreal the training those guys do. I'd highly reccomend it."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

Re: Official OS Book Club
Well, I wouldn't say I read the most "intellectual" books all the time, but I love a good action/popcorn book.
For example, my favorite novels happen to be by Steve Alten: "MEG", "The Trench", "Primal Waters", and "The Loch". The first three dealing with the discovery of the thought to be extinct Megalodon shark and the havoc it wreaks, and The Loch being Alten's twist on the story of the Loch Ness Monster. Alten's books are incredibly entertaining, and I can lose myself in each of them for hours at a time. Pretty much the equivelant of most of Spielberg's movies, but in novel form.
Other books i've read recently are "Subterranean" by James Rollins and "Amityville Horror" by Jay Anson.
However, I did just purchase "Coma Therapy" off of Amazon. It's a book of poetry and short stories by Eric Victorino, who happens to be the lead singer of my favorite band, Strata. It's a good look into his life, and what has inspired him throughout the years. Definitely puts some of his lyrics into perspective. I definitely recommend it.Comment

Re: Official OS Book Club
I read Digital Foretress too. It is a pretty good book if your into government CIA FBI and stuff of that nature.Originally posted by gr8fuldaveActually read DaVinci first because Angels and Demons is a FAR superior book IMO. The story in Angels and Demons has more twists and turns than a winding country road. I hope DaVinci does well at the box office, so we can get a movie version of Angels and Demons. I've been on a Dan Brown kick lately and have read DaVinci, Angels and Demons, and Digital Fortress which has nothing to do with religion, but deals with code breaking. Digital Fortress is very good and you should be able to pick it up at a used book store for a couple of bucks. I'm reading Deception Point right now and it's a little slower than the other books, but very good nonetheless.
John Patterson is pretty good too. I've read his Women Murder Club series and its ridiculously good.Comment

Does anybody else enjoy reading World War 2 books? There is no place like Nebraska
Dear old Nebraska U.
Where the girls are the fairest,
The boys are the squarest,
Of any old school that I knew.
There is no place like Nebraska,
Where they're all true blue.
We'll all stick together,
In all kinds of weather,
For Dear old Nebraska U!
Won't change this signature until Nebraska wins the National Championship...posted 8/16/05Comment
