He get's taken captive by some tribes in South America and it turns out that the tribes are in cahoots with terrorists. I'm not too far into it yet, but I liked his other book, Assassin
I've read all the Alex Hawke books so far, starting with Hawke, then Assassin, Pirate, and Spy. Great books. Alex Hawke is kinda like a British Dirk Pitt.

I need to make a trip to the bookstore. I just finished the last book in W.E.B. Griffin's Brotherhood of War series, and need some new books!

If you like books that mix international espionage with the killer-esque thrillers, I recommend you read almost any book by Daniel Silva.

Easily my favorite writer these days. The Kill Artist, The Mark of the Assassin, the Messenger are all great books.

I love that book. It's dense and difficult and weird, I admit: but it all adds up to some incredible moments of pure emotion. I read it when it came out, and many of the scenes stuck with me still.

Did I ever tell you the background for me reading that book?

I had just moved into my new house at college. It is four bedroom, three of which are upstairs, mine being one of them. Well, I moved in before any of my other three roommates, they were set to move in a week later. That is right when I started reading The House of Leaves.

The catch is, the house didn't have electricity until my other three roomies moved in.

So I was up late at night, reading this book by candle light, in a big new house, all alone, with new sounds, and unfamiliarities.

I don't know if I have ever been that scared, but it was a blast!

So with summer vacation upon us for many... anyone have any good reccommendations?

I'm looking for a good mix of fiction and non-fiction... with some sports non-fiction thrown in as well.

I've been reading the Clive Cussler series the past week or so. They're a good read for my commute on the train, quick reads and entertaining. I've been struggling to find new material. I read so much during the summer, I can't find good books fast enough.

For anyone into history, I just finished a book called "In Harms Way". It's about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis towards the end of World War 2. It's a pretty quick read but I highly recommend it.

Also, has anyone here read any of the 2 books by James Bradley?

I just ordered "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. I'm not going to try and get into a debate with anyone on what the book covers, but has anyone read it?

This book disappointed me... I had such high hopes for this book, I loved the "House of Leaves" it is one of my favorite books of all time. I just couldn't get into this book. Let me know what you think of it, maybe I need to give it another chance...
