        Artist: The Away Team
        Album: Training Day
        Producers: Khrysis
        Release Date: November 2nd, 2007

I'll cut to the chase. Khrysis is a fantastic producer who really overdoes his unorthodox style on this album. If you've listened to Khrysis he has two sides. One side that packs soul and punch for some of the finest beats you'll ever hear. The other times like this album which are thankfully scarce he drops some of the weirdest beats that don't quite cater to me. AT ALL. With the juvenile hooks conjured up by Sean Boog who in all my wildest dreams couldn't ever possibly be someone's favorite artist, this piece of work looks more like a piece of trash. His emphasis of the "P" or "C" sound can and will get tiresome. Like "National Anthem" but to a new degree, this album fails to please. It's best that Khrysis and Sean Boog part ways and go their separate roads. Khrysis, keep on the boards. Sean Boog, find another rapper to team up with so there is some kind of balance.

Some cool things you will find on this album though: "Scream Out!" basically samples "The Last Time" by 9th Wonder on The Dream Merchant 2, which is known for it's Royce da 5'9" cameo. Sean Boog lyrically rips this song. Like no joke, he's pretty incredible on it. "The Odds" beat is very enthralling. Evidence's verse in "Sum Of Me" is nasty. On the same song Darien Brockington's vocals fire up the hook but Boog makes it awkward with the way he says "some of me". The beat is hot as hell though.

I would also like to add that I've just reviewed two albums in a row that have the same name of a 'Denzel Washington playing a bad guy' movie.

          Artist: The Bluntologist
          Album: Blunt Sessions
          Producers: Blunt
          Release Date: November 2nd, 2007

Canada has been on their game in hip-hop. Toronto with Prince Ali, and now Vancouver with this. The beats are all really really nice but some of the emcees on here need to hang up the mic. On the songs with the veterans like Edo G, Edgar Allen Floe, or Tragedy Khadafi, the beats get to shine. Unfortunately I can't find the album cover, but this album seems pretty easy to find to download. It's nice. Take a look.

Here is some Edgar Allen Floe... from his 2006 Mixtape of the Year "Floe Almighty", back to 2005, and then back again with some new ish from 2007 including tracks from "Blunt Sessions".

This album is an overall solid piece but nothing will wow you from it. This is something we've come to expect from Jay-Z who's work as of late has been yawn-enducing. On the flip side, Just Blaze seems to get better and better everytime he produces a track and he was one mistake away from making "Ignorant ****" ft. Beanie Sigel one of the best beats/tracks ever made, no joke. His sample of "Big Poppa" wasn't anything too hard or complex but it's pretty appropriate knowing Jigga man and Biggie's history. "I Know" produced by The Neptunes is another fantastic song, but the rest of the album is very blehh. I wouldn't suggest buying it unless you have some serious Jay-Z nut-clinging issues and think he's the all-time greatest. Don't fool yourself.

Why do you have to be a nut-clinger cause you buy this album? I would think 86% is good enough to warrant a purchase. On another topic, How the hell did Smif and Wessun get 100%. Some of them beats were pretty wack.

The beats on "The Album" have a lot more flavor than anything on "American Gangster".

Speaking of Smif & Wessun, can anyone upload the track they had with Talib Kweli off their last album? I think it was called Crystal Stairs and I need it on my i-pod.

I forgot all about that. I'll try to look for it, it might take awhile though cause it's buried somewhere. It was a good song though.
