I'm so excited! I want to fly out there for this!

I'm going to preorder this whenever I can and I like the fact that no leaks are going to happen.

                  The FOUR Awards

                  Artist of the Year:

                  Median

Median was overdue for some musical sheeeit to come out and 2007 was the year that it ended up happening. Not making much of a name for himself five long years ago, just a show of promise, Median came out with a vengeance in 2007. His mixtape was only aight with a lot of outdated pieces, but it included some strong gems that were brand new and gave a glimpse into the future of what we were to see from Median.

These tracks included "Rize" and "How Big is Your World?" which were both arguably the strongest songs on "Median's Relief". Other songs rep'd on Median's Relief in the Making were Tanya Morgan's "Golden Ticket" in which Median is featured over an entrancing instrumental produced by Von Pea. All three were nominated for awards but didn't claim any. However, Artist of the Year was awarded to Median which was well deserved after his self-conscious masterpiece... "Median's Relief". The album explores a man who discovers his inner-glow and stops at nothing to express himself to others who enslave themselves against the attack that is everyday society.

It's refreshing to hear lyrics that enlighten listeners to make best of their abilities, who don't suffer from strain in serious situations. He even professes of sometimes fictional and sometimes recently historical events to make a point that an individual's life who hasn't experienced real danger can't suffer from a few of life's real intense problems that it can throw at some. Brenda's baby faced many hardships in "Brenda's Baby" which is an unofficial sequel to 2Pac's "Brenda had a Baby". "How Big is Your World" shows us that our problems and beef are a spec to the world's problems and shouldn't hinder us. The Carolina lineup of producers as well as Nicolay and a few others came hard on this joint and on songs like "Personified", Median brought down the ceiling with verses like...

"...And I'm consultin' with the lotion, try to smooth it over with the dosage, the flow is so potent / back to my closet, please tell me who's startin', shirts and kicks started coordinatin' with my boxers / this one pair of socks is all wholly draft dodgin', they don't wanna see the action, so I don't wanna bother 'em..."

Invest in this man and check out my 5 favorite tracks from Median in 2007 as a sampler:

"Rize" ft. Ladehra (Khrysis) ... Median's Relief
"How Big is Your World" (9th Wonder) ... Median's Relief
                  "Personified" (9th Wonder) ... Median's Relief
"Golden Ticket" (Von Pea) ... Median's Relief in the Making
"Right Or Wrong" (Centric) ... Median's Relief

Is it a crime to not be into club music? And yes, nearly everything mainstream THESE days are made for the club, or for some stupid-*** dance.

I have 46 Jay-Z songs... I'm the guy who gave Kanye's album Classic status (prematurely)... I have Just Blaze produced tracks... and a few Nas. I have Jeezy, Lil' Wayne, and Snoop littered through out my playlist....

I don't have an underground complex by any means but there are producers I enjoy more than others and you shouldn't have read that much into my comment.

Is this better for you... IMO (again, I can't be any more clear with this In my own opinion ****) 9th Wonder is the most ENJOYABLE producer to listen to ... FOR ME... if we keep arguing one producer vs. the other, we aren't going to get anywhere. Our tastes are way too different.

I personally think he's overrated because he's heralded as one of the best by many and I simply don't agree, BUT you can't hate on Alchemist. There is a reason why so many love his stuff. He never had bad stuff it seems. Who loves "Who Want It" by Royce (original is for JADA)??? yep... Alchemist boiiiii.
