Odogg don't be so critical. They're going for a Bond that is more in line with Ian Flemming's original vision so he's going to be rough around the edges. I like what I saw in the trailers and I will be waiting in line to see this flick.

Give the guy a chance. I don't want him becomng another George Lazenby where he gives a great performance but people are too stubbornly attached to the old style that they discard him. I still consider OHMSS to be the best Bond movie ever.

Well maybe you're right but I was one of those people who did sign the petition to remove him from the film right after they announced him as the lead, heh. But yeah i'll watch it eventually and if he is good then i'll admit I was wrong.

Ok please someone clear something up for me. Me and my friend were having a discussion about this movie. He says the first James Bond movie was Dr. NO...I say its casino royale and the new one coming out is a remake of the book that the first one "spoofed". Can anyone clear this up? I remember a story a year ago bout quentin tarentino suggesting to the movie execs to remake the first book and they totally went on w/o him and did it without offering him to direct it.

The first novel with James Bond was Casino Royale. The first James Bond movie was Dr. No in 1962. Casino Royale, the David Niven spoof, was made in 1967.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

And for the record, Craig is going to own the haters. This is the first Bond since Connery that looks like an athlete and someone who has worn a jockstrap. This will carry over into the stunts (he lost two teeth in a fight) and Bond will be much better played by him than a pretty boy.

This movie is a must see for me. I've seen every Bond film to date, and I'll not miss this one. Love the choice, in the trailer alone you can see his grittyness thats been missing as of late.

He looks to me of what I envision when I think of IF's original novels, the opening scene with Craig talking to the man about what it takes to be a double O is stunning, yet exactly what I see in Bond.

I also love when his love interest asks him "so you have no problem with killing all these people?" he responds with "well, then I wouldnt be really good at my job, would I".

              Simply awesome!

you're correct. But way back in the 50's, he was called jimmy bond or something like that.

anyways, I'm 100% willing to give this movie a shot. Regardless of the "reboot" of the franchise and the weird choice errors like keeping Dench, the last few movies became too star trek and CGI ridden for me. The cool toys are always fun, but it got pretty damn lame. Vin diesel in XXX pretty much killed any further films like this from the james bond franchise I'd think, as they become comical almost.

Ah you're referring to a 1950s uh I think Playhouse 90 TV presentation of Casino Royale. In that production Bond was played by an American and he was called Card Sense Jimmy Bond. (i'm not making that up)

Anywho, as i've stated in the past and will continue to say, i'm REALLY pumped up for this movie. It reminds me so much of the Connery Bond films with just enough techno stuff to be relevent to the kids out there. This will completely rejuvenate the series and make Bond a viable franchise and not just an entity coasting on its reputation.

I've seen every Bond film except one (The Living Daylights) and I really have high hopes for this one. In fact, i've recruited my father to go with me to this one as we went to 2 of the Brosnan films in the theatres. Might as well go to the first Craig edition as well.

They're showing too much in the trailers. I feel like i've already seen the movie.

This is why I only watch one or two trailers and steer clear of the actual fully fleshed out trailers/commericals.

I've only seen the one trailer, although I'm pretty sure I know what happens with the girl, it feels like it'll be a great movie.

Anyone seeing it this weekend? I might, if it's showing on the digital screen near my house. I don't go to the movies much anymore, but this one might be worth the trip. I love the James Bond movies and reviewers are saying that CR takes the franchise back to its old school roots while injecting it with new life.

I was going to see it on Saturday, but I have to watch my little brother (that bastard).

I'm probably going to see it next week though, since I have the whole week off.
