I thought the interaction between Bond and Lynd, especially the first half of the movie, was terrific. The possibility of a major age difference didn't even cross my mind.

Only AF could read between the lines like that. I guess that means he can't watch many of the Moore films because there was definitely a huge age difference thing going on in those flicks.
Oh and the train scene between Bond and Vesper was probably the best Bond/Bond girl exchange ever.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Casino Royale...the new Bond
I would definitely agree. From the movies I've seen, the connection between Bond and "the girl" wasn't even close to being as strong as Bond and Vesper's. I also enjoyed the scene where they get their aliases.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who agrees with you on the age difference issue.Comment

Re: Casino Royale...the new Bond
Wow, this movie blew me away. I've always been a fairly big fan of a couple Brosnan 007's (mainly Goldeneye), but CR makes Goldeneye look like childs play. I love how they more or less humanized Bond and made him very vulnerable, physically and emotionally. Makes it much easier to connect to the Bond character, which Bond movies lately have been ignoring. Craig was spot on as Bond, and, as before, completely overshadowed Brosnan IMO. Nothing against Brosnan, as the Bond movies he was in had pretty crappy material to work with, but Craig is phenominal as Bond. I am one of those people who did not originally like the choice of Craig to play Bond, but now I am 100% he's the man for the role.
Eva Green was fantastic in her role as well. As stated earlier, she had many more emotional scenes, and much more connection to Bond than other Bond girls have in the past.
Overall, I am definitely a little disappointed I didn't bother catching this in theaters, as some of the action, mainly the foot chase, would have been amazing to see on the big screen. But, aside from that, this movie was fantastic.Comment

Re: Casino Royale...the new Bond
Just watched this today on BD for the first time. It was great! I really like how they're reinvigorating the franchise by making smart, intelligent movies like the Bourne Identity instead of the campy, outrageous movies that the Bond franchise had become. I loved that this one played it straight in terms of the gadgetry involved and that it wasn't all action. Granted the action sequences were excellent, but what makes Bond Bond is his ability to be suave and super cool in casinos, dealing with women, etc. So it was nice to see the movie's pace slow down throughout the story to allow Daniel Craig to be Bond instead of just blow everything up.
I've seen every Bond movie a ton of times each, but I love what they did with Casino Royale. Great movie.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Vesper: Even accountants have imagination. How was your lamb?

I totally agree. The fact that she sizes him up (her own words) immediately is completely unique. And everyone always loves the "perfectly formed ***" line, but my favorite is what comes right after:
Vesper: Even accountants have imagination. How was your lamb?
Bond: Skewered. One sympathizes.

Re: Casino Royale...the new Bond
Super witty dialogue with insane action made this my favorite Bond movie. I have never been a huge Bond fan, just a huge Daniel Craig fan but this movie rocks.
If you haven't seen the movie Craig did before Bond, Layer Cake, I highly recommend it.Comment
