I was reading that this is the best Bond since the Sean Connery bonds.

I only have seen it once (CR). But that title belongs to On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The most faithful to Flemings original. Therefore the best in my book. Terrific girl, perfect (best) soundtrack, best performances by Q, M, and Mrs. Moneypenny, best PTS, breathtaking ski sequence, attack on the villains headquarters, best director, NO GADGETS, romance, mystery, an unforgettable ending, truly an epic Bond masterpiece. While not a perfect film (editing, Lazenby*) it is the most human which makes it my favorite.

Lazenby gets a bum rap, he is exceptional in the role and would have really made it his with a couple more performances. He did an excellent job considering the fact it was his first film. His performance during the proposal and ending alone ranks with any of the more experienced Bond. Physically he was a match against any actor to play Bond even Connery. I can only imagine a vengeful Lazenby in DAF..........

Yep, I recently went through the Connery films, OHMSS and remembering Casino Royale i'd have to say the best Bond movies are in this order:

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
OHMSS
CASINO ROYALE

I'll hopefully be able to pick this up to buy tomorrow er, today.

That's my top 3 as well.

From Russia with Love is definitely one, if not the, best Bond film ever made. Casino Royale is right up there.

OHMSS is not quite as high on my list, perhaps due to some of the choppy action sequences that turned me off when I was younger. I'm very partial to Dr. No and The Spy Who Loved Me is my favorite Roger Moore movie behind the three I've mentioned. But I feel like I need to watch OHMSS more closely...

I finished watching CR earlier tonight and thought that this movie was really good and is in the top 5 of Bond releases. The beginning of the movie was very intense and couldn't believe the entire sequence, breathtaking. I really enjoyed the story and thought that Daniel Craig played a very good Bond.

I just watched it again for the second time, good flick. Better than any Moore or Brosnan flick. Big Connery fan so it's in most likely in the top 7. I also just read the book, too bad they did not use Flemings story, it is a much better story and would have made a better film.

They did use the majority of Flemming's storyline.

I also just watched it again and its definitely top 3 Bond material to me. I might have to place it above OHMSS, although those two are really similar - I like the "calm" middle part of Casino Royale better than I do the "calm" middle part of OHMSS.
