This is some brilliant deduction? I've ALWAYS thought that was the case.

    Oh well....

BTW how is the Fatman on Batman podcast in terms of quality?

Kevin Smith kinda grinds my gears so I've never listened to his podcasts.

I don't "buy" the explanation, but I feel its a plausible conclusion given the ambiguity of the scene.

The most simple and logical argument against it is that Barbara was still shot and paralyzed therefore the story is canon. If the story is canon then that can't be what happend because Joker is still around.

This: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/08/...and-dc-comics/ makes more sense than the neck snapping but the above still stands.

I've also seen an explanation that the light going out and laughter stopping was a parallel to the joke itself showing that at heart Batman isn't much different than Joker.

Wasn't it out of continuity when it was first published?

            WOW!

The Dark Phoenix Saga is one of the best comic book storylines i've ever read. I'm ashamed it's taken me this long to read this and now i'm very intrigued to read "Days of Future Past" and "God Loves, Man Kills" when I get to them. The crazy thing is, Claremont/Byrne didn't even want to kill Jean off and in being forced to do it they and X-Men in general lucked into a storyline that still resonates to this day!

Awesome stuff all around and even though I knew the end result my room still got a little dusty.
The entire Byrne/Claremont run (circa UXM 111-143) is excellent.

Read JL Dark #23, part 5 of the trinity arc, was pretty good.....looks like with the continuity of the trinity story breaking into multiple one shots spread across varios titles won't be touching Suicide Squad?!?! I didn't see a Suicide Squad cover, and Harley's cover is over the back drop of Batman Detective. That sucks.

With Waller heading up the Suicide Squad and JLA I thought for sure there was to be an appearance of the Suicide Squad during this Trinity story, who knows, maybe there's something in store w/ the Suicide Squad appearing in part 6?

Seems kind of dumb to leave out Suicide Squad...

This has probably been said already, but All-Star Superman is FANTASTIC! I recently got back into comics and I must say I am very pleased with what DC is doing.

I was a Marvel fanboy for the longest, but the DC New 52 reboot was the perfect jumping on point and I must say...the weekly DC books I read are my heads and tails favorites. I get about 5-6 different Marvel titles, 3 Image Titles, and the JL/JLA/JLD, Batman/Talon, and Suicide Squad are my favorite books to read every week.

So yea, X-Men, the all-female cast title w/ Storm, Psylocke, Jubilee, Kitty, and Rogue. I've picked up issues 1-4. Read them all. I was really into issues 1 and 2, was really liking the intro, art, and the John Sublime/Arkea story. Then issue 3 came along to finish out the first arc, and it was a major letdown to me, fell really flat, and into issue #4 just seems to have put a wedge into Storm and Rachel...big friggin whoopy doo.

I know others were really excited about this title when it was first announced. Curious as to what you think of the book now if you've read 1-4 already.

I don't think so. I believe they had to ask permission for the whole crippling thing. If it wasn't intended to be canon then they probably wouldn't have had to ask.

I agree about the conclusion of the first arc, quite an abrupt ending and I don't know what the hell actually happened Sublime and how it brought Karima back.

That seemed to be the point once the story concluded. All to wake her out of the comatose state she's been in for a while. I guess issue 4 was trying to establish something with the team, though Rogue seemed very out of character compared to recent events.

I hated the art in issue 4 too. Really really bad IMO.

Overall the story is at .500 for the moment but I'm not turned off enough to stop reading.

Just read X-Men #4 and I thought it was half good as I enjoyed the Wolverine/Jubilee portions A LOT. The wedge between Rachel and Storm seems to be a bit contrived but hopefully they'll tone that down going forward. It's going to be tough to get a gauge on this book as the next issue is a tie-in to the Battle of the Atom crossover.

All in all though I agree with Lionsfan the book is batting about .500 for me as well. It really seemed like the first arc was meant to introduce Shogo and to resurrect Karima.

I haven't really bought anything new since my local store shut down about a year ago, but am feeling the itch.

What are some good Marvel TPBs you guys recommend? I like Punisher, Spiderman, and Wolverine/X-Men. I was looking at adding Ultimates Comics Spiderman vol 1 and Hawkeye Vol. 1 (My Life as a Weapon), but outside of that I'm not sure. I'm looking for mostly newer stories, but still need to flesh out my "classic" Marvel library.

Also, what are some good Wonder Woman stories?

What are some non-superhero comics you guys like?
