    Re: Comic Book Fans....

So I just signed up for Comixology, never really read any comics.

Couple questions, is the TMNT worth reading? And what are some essential Batman/Justice League must reads?

Been catching up on the X-books. Last time I was a regular reader was the beginning of the stuff with Bastion so I was way behind. I've gotten up to All New X-Men #6 and man, the feels, so many feels.

Got caught up on some reading yesterday in the DCU:

        ARGUS #2
        Rogues Rebellion 2/3
        Arkham War #3
        Forever Evil #4
        JLA #10
        Justice League 25/26.

Enjoyed them all for what they were, and would have to say that my faves were Forever Evil #4 and JL #26; the end page of JL #26 has me very excited for issue #27.

I didn't see this til now but yes, i'd give the TMNT comic a read. They recently went through a long storyline which has shaken up the status quo a bit in City Fall. It's a well done comic that manages to throw in bits and pieces from just about every incarnation of the TMNT mythos.

Has anyone here been reading Nightwing? Was thinking about picking up his book, maybe adding it to my weekly list. Should I start from the beginning by getting the 1st trade or just pick up the next issue. I suppose it would be best to start from at least the "Death of the Family" arc so that I can get my bearing w/ Nightwing being in Chicago and on his own. Any suggestions?

I'd definitely start from there or the #1 as the rumor is (spoiler)

Made a run to the mall on my last day in the big city on holiday and was happy to pick up Vol 1 of Saga.

Also picked up Kingdom Come and Vol 2 Batman Detective. Was disappointed they didn't have Snyder's Batman.

Injustice #11 was another gem, this book continues to be my monthly fave. The artwork is top notch, and so many game-changing events take place every issue. It has the universe altering effects you expect in every story arc, except is more pronounced...it's issue by issue.

If you have played the game and are not reading the book you should be ashamed of yourself lol.

All New Marvel NOW Point One so underwhelming. The "Who killed The Watcher" whodunit being teased is not appealing to me either. Old Nick Fury murder mystery? Bleh.

                    Ultimate relaunch in April apparently.

I'll read it Friday and let you know what I think.

BTW it looks like Marvel is shaking things up needlessly. I know they're following what DC did with how they changed things but at least DC settled into a status quo. Even the big changes that DC has embarked upon post New 52 has had an organic feel and flow to it whereas Marvel is just throwing stuff out there.

Hell, Deadpool is going to marry another Marvel character sometime this year!

Also it looks like Marvel is trying to put a new trade dress to their comics covers. I don't like it as it's very cluttered and screams "LOOK AT ME!".

I think the Marvel covers, with the red line on the bottom are hideous. DC has done a nice job with their high gloss covers.

Okay so I read Black Widow...Pretty interesting, it seems she does missions that may not exactly be on the up and up but it's to help atone for her past transgressions as the money goes into trusts and such. I'll need to read more to get a firm handle on it but so far so good.

Peter David's All New X-Factor was EXCELLENT. David knows how to bring new readers up to speed while making it interesting for those who followed his previous X-Factor book/new to Marvel. The idea of mutants working for a company that helps people is interesting though I get the feeling there's something rotten in Denmark.

The Killable storyline just ended in Wolverine and just like Marvel's been doing lately just about every time they do a creative team shift (Cornell is staying on but there'll be a new inker) they either cancel the book and shunt the character to a new book or reboot with a new series. Yes, Wolverine is going to come out with a new #1.

Killable has been a good arc. I've enjoyed it, and some of the covers have been excellent; I especially like the one where he has the bandages with his fists up.

Picking up Deadpool, wolvie, and widow this week....might grab X-Factor though there's really not a character I like there.
