Re: Comic Book Fans....
Wow, that does seem like something (checked it on Wikipedia). I never heard of that or Marvel Now until I noticed your post. In your opinion is there another comic that you like as much or close to Superior Spiderman in the Marvel Now universe?Comment

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I will say this, the recently concluded Wolverine title (Vol 5 #1-13) was some of the best stuff Marvel has put out involving Wolverine in YEARS. It sets up a new status quo of Wolverine losing his healing factor and since it's all in 13 issues i'm sure there'll be a TPB collecting the entire volume coming out soon. The next volume will be coming out next month which will continue the story.
Most of the other Marvel Now stuff doesn't impress me. I haven't read any Iron Man since the Marvel Now launch and i've never been a fan of Thor. Captain America has been very good though especially the Dimension Z storyline. Daredevil (which is also ending it's run very soon) written by Mark Waid has been lights out and I think you may like that. The early issues give off a vibe of fun and excitement without the depression and angst of modern day Daredevil. As the series has progressed worse and worse things have happened to DD but he's remained pretty stable in terms of not going completely off the deep end. So you could probably check that out.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I would recommend Deadpool, Wolverine, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Hawkeye in that order.

Oh and damn, forgot to mention Hawkeye as books to recommend. That book knows it's a comic and EMBRACES it! It has a humorous side and the subject matter is usually treated with a light frothy touch that makes it fun to read.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Comic Book Fans....
So did anyone read Injustice Yr2? I am trying to figure out how Sinestro so easily snapped off Kyle Rayner's ring finger. SPTO, I know you're a Green Lantern buff, explain that one to me...Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I'm liking Marvel a little more after the recent .now books came out. I like the idea that they show a potential customer that now is a good jumping in point.
One thing I need to do though is go back and buy Age of Ultron Book4 and read all of those books. I never did. Then I would like to pick up the collected edition of Infinity as I've read bits/pieces of the story as they appear in Thunderbolts, & GotG... might even need to go after Inhumanity too since I'm getting snippets of that in the Hulk books now.
Did anyone ever read the Arms of the Octopus special that was a cross-over for Hulk, Spidey, and All-New Xmen? I have the Hulk book, was thinking about picking up the other 2.Last edited by JBH3; 02-01-2014, 02:56 AM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I just got back into comics and have gotten a ton of DC graphic novels. So far the biggest surprise and one of my favorites is All-Star Western with Jonah Hex. Art is a little weak but the writing is great. I have also been enjoying Valiant's resurgence. Bloodshot is brutal and very well told, Archer and Armstrong is interesting and funny, and X O Manowar is a solid title. I ended up digging out my old Valiant comics; I had forgotten how good they were. Crisp, clean art with excellent stories.
The Bat books are knocking it out of the park. DC has really upped their game over the last few years. I love the JLA books. And of course Green Lantern is amazing. It's a great time to be a comics fan.Comment

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Quite a busy week for both Marvel and DC. Lots of stuff out...
I want to get the collected edition of Infinity but will have to wait; want both that an AOU in hardback.
So far I've read the new Wolverine and the new Punisher. Was really looking forward to both and the Punisher book blew me away...loved it, want more. The Wolvie book was...ok. Loved the whole killable arc, but the writing in this new book didn't have the same umph to it, and had Wolverine too engrossed in this new team when he's been w/ them for all of what 5 weeks?! Don't like Wolvie having gone rouge and his new partners/boss are corny.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
