All I can suggest is Knightfall. If I were to buy one TPB for Batman that would be it. I haven't read a lot of newer stuff though.

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I have the single issues up through Death of the Family.
I also have most of J.H. Williams New 52 run on Batwoman which I really enjoyed (artwork was amazing).
I have a good selection of Batman focused TPBs so far (Year One, TDKR, Hush, Long Halloween, Dark Victory, No Man's Land, A Death In the Family etc) while also wanting to start in on Grant Morrison's run here soon.

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Any good Robin/Nightwing books out there? Or Batgirl for that matter?
The only other TPBs I have are the Uncanny X-Men Masterworks. I'd love to venture into The Punisher, Wolverine, and Spidey or any other Marvel stuff you guys suggest.

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Superior Spider-Man is great. My favorite spider story possibly ever outside of nostalgic 90s Spidey stories like Maximum Carnage and the original Venom series.
I've started buying more hardbound trades and collections. Just picked up the new Black Vortex last week. At the comic con we had here the only book I got signed was the collected DOOMED arc in hardback form, bought from writer Charles Soule himself.
Week before last I bought the collected Annihilation War.
I'm kinda bitterly disappointed we didn't get to keep the inverted Carnage from AXIS. That could have been a fun series.Comment

Do you guys read any non-superhero stuff? I've enjoyed what I've read of Fables and Scott Pilgrim is one of my favorite series.

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I second the motion for Superior Spider-Man! That was a great way of upending the status quo and brought some interesting aspects of the nature of villainy and heroism to the fore that you usually don't think of.
As for Wolverine, while it's not strictly a Wolverine book i'd recommend the first volume of Wolvering and the X-Men with him being the headmaster at the Jean Grey school. It's funny as hell and the story is quite engaging. That series went through some ups and downs (the 2nd volume was a real tough slog and the volume with Spidey taking over for Wolverine was very funny but didn't quite have the balance of humor and a solid superhero story) but the first volume is great stuff.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Nope. Only Marvel stuff I've read is the early Claremont Uncanny X-Men.
Forgot about Walking Dead. I know I have a good number of those. I forgot to mention Sin City, too. Really enjoyed those.

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I don't know if I would even like some of the classics if I read them for the first time right now. Stuff like secret wars with it's over-narration of ability usage and every sentence ending in an exclamation point, that stuff drives me crazy.
I just re-read the Infinity Gauntlet last week, and the prelude book that has Thanos' resurrection and his acquisition of the Infinity gems. Classic stuff.Comment

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I went home last night and unboxed all of my comics. Most of them had been packed up for two years when I moved out of the townhouse. At that time we still had a local comic book store and I was keeping up with a couple of the New 52 runs. I loved the JH Williams III run of Batwoman and of course Snyder's Batman. I had also been enjoying Swamp Thing and Action Comics Superman. I have All-Star Western, but I don't remember reading all of them. All of these I have up through issues 10-12.
I also found a couple random issues Rocketeer, Fatale, and Lobster Johnson. Unfortunately, they closed before I moved.
Anyway, I rediscovered a bunch of TPBs I had completely forgotten about.
