thinking back, did they ever announce Brock as Venom in the movie? I don't ever recall anyone actually saying the name Venom in the film.

Re: Spiderman 3 Chatter
I guess I liked it. Spidey fans won't be disappointed for sure, but to me it was just o.k.
I really just don't like the Sandman villain. Venom was pretty slick though. I agree with all of Primetime's spoiler thoughts.Comment

Re: Spiderman 3 Chatter
I went with my friend and his girlfriend and they loved the movie. I thought it was good but certainly not superb. Saw the movie last nite at midnight and i must say, i walked away with a "hummm........ok good movie"
Yet i thought Spiderman 2 was fantastic. It was probably due to the fact that i had high expectations for this movie though. I was gona see it again with my little brother today, but he can go with my sister, don't feel like watching it twice.
Not a bad movie, but not a great one either. Feels like they put three villians in and couldn't really give them all the attention they deserved.
In Spiderman 2 when there was no action the Story was being inforced and told. What Spiderman 2 did it really make you feel for Peter. He lost his powers was happy about and then wanted to get them back. Sam Rami did a good job at delivering a good story in 2.
Yet in 3 i feel like when there was no action instead of buliding the story and the feeling, they decided to strayed away from it.They treated us to scenes that didn't really explain too much about the villains. I mean they should of just stuck with two bad guys and truly build on that instead of giving us a dancing scene.
But the action scenes were pretty good though. When ever they did go back to the fight scenes they looked pretty good. Except for the first one, too many shots at a fast pace going on, not sure exactly what happened until it was over
The dancing scenes are funni though, had me and the whole audience laughing. But Peter looked more gothic than hardcore
However watching the movie made me really want to play the game. Hopefully the demo is out soon and my blockbuster has it
As a whole i would recommend this movie to a friend, just don't expect to be blown away by a nice thought out story, expect nice scenes and action, with a predictiable ending.
However the movie wasn't nearly as bad as X-men 3
Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How the hell did Eddie Brock know Peter was in love with Mary Jane??? Did he ever see both of them together??? He wasn't at the jazz cafe was he???? Another not explained scene.
And I am the olny one disappointed that they didn't end the movie with Spidey swinging around like they did for the first two???

Re: Spiderman 3 Chatter
Going to see it tonight. I've been reading some RottenTomato reviews and marshallfever's and I'm mildly disappointed. I had a feeling the third would have a tough time living up to the sequels, but thought they might strike gold for the third time. On that note there are a few reviewers who say this one is the best.Comment

Re: Spiderman 3 Chatter
Disappointed in #2?? I thought the movie was almost flawless except for the hero/villain confrontation-not quite intense enough. I'd still give it three thumbs up. (if I could).Comment

Re: Spiderman 3 Chatter
I've been reading reviews all over the web and it seems to be a real mixed bag.
But I think the common theme in most peoples thoughts is that this is the worst one out of all 3 and that there were too many odd, sappy and corny scenes.
I think it was a mistake to introduce so many villians at once. I was hoping that Spiderman 3 would resolve the Harry/Peter conflict in the first half and then the confrontation with Venom in the 2nd half.
And to be completely honest (and I know I'm going to get killed for saying this), I think putting Venom in was a mistake. Only hardcore Spiderman fans have any kind of concept who he is and what he's about. And I think he's too complex and different to put in these films as a lot of viewers that are watching them aren't hardcore Spiderman fans.
At the very least, they should have devoted an entire movie to just him. Not throw him in with 2 other villians.
The Green Goblin was Spidermans greatest foe. I like how they've kept that theme going but I was worried about what it would be like to throw so many arcs and villians into one film. Even putting in Gwen Stacy was a mistake.
What's next? The Clone wars for part 4? One of the things I loved about the first 2 was that they weren't too 'comic bookey'. But that's what #3 appears to be.
Of course, I'm saying all of this without having seen it myself. I have no crediblity here. I just hope I'm not disappointed. I loved the first 2 films and have seen both multiple times. I hope part 3 doesn't leave a bad taste on the series.Comment

Spiderman was always a story about a kid that wanted to fit in. I thought they captured that perfectly.Comment

Re: Spiderman 3 Chatter
Basically when I saw the scene I thought they had stolen the jazz flute scene out of Anchorman and changed the actors... But this time I think they wanted people to take it somewhat serious.http://flotn.blogspot.com
