Disappointed in #2?? I thought the movie was almost flawless except for the hero/villain confrontation-not quite intense enough. I'd still give it three thumbs up. (if I could).

I thought the same thing, Spiderman 2 was great. Olny downfall was that there wasn't enough Spidey vs Dr.Oct

Will someone please explain this whole "dancing scene" thing to me? I really have no desire to rush out and see the film, so please explain what happens in this scene.

Well i'm not sure how to explain it, imagine Tobey walking in downtown New York, looking a little emo and starting to disco dance for no apparent reason. At first it seemed as if he had sex appeal and the ladies were all over him. The as it progressed it looked like they were actually avoiding him

Not so much the amount of confrontation, as the intensity. I've said it before, but the movie super hero/super villain confrontations can be anti climatic. I want to see some serious battles like Dan and the Captain in "Deadwood", but then they's have to rate it "R".

Yes. I thought #2 was too much of a love story, and not enough action. I also really didn't like the story.

The first one was amazing. You get the background story, you see how he learns his powers, much better villain, etc.

#2 was a HUGE letdown for me, yes.

I don't understand how anyone doesn't like the "sappy" scenes. They are a necessity to develop the characters.

It seems as if people wanted more action and less talking. Personally, I'm not crazy about that.

I originally didn't like the character development as well. The problem is I know the background to these characters... and this movie can't be made under that assumption.

I didn't realize how poorly developed characters would fail in these films until Gwen Stacy... it's as if Raimi included the characters just to include them.

Personally, while the action was crazy and the movie enjoyable, too much was stuffed into this film. We're talking about 100's of comics and scenes of character development thrown into 25 minutes on the big screen... that doesn't add up.

Even with my thoughts, I have to remember it's not an exact take on the comics. It's tough to differentiate that.

So i'm led to believe Gwen Stacy was kind of introduced haphazzardly eh? That's a shame because her hmm er don't want to spoil things. Her "accident" is one of the most powerful moments in comic book history. If her involvement in this film is nothing more then fluff i'd be disappointed even tho i'm not a huge fan of the Spidey books.

BTW i'm glad that they've done a lot of character development in this series because even tho I know generally about the big events in Spidey's life I've never read the actual issues. I was thinking of buying the new birth of venom trade but I bought Batman Year One instead. (it was cheaper )

For someone with no or not too much Marvel background the story line may be over whelming.

For me, this is the best out of the three. Maybe because I am obsessed with Venom my opinion might be a little bias I suppose.

Gwen's death was a powerful(and surprising) moment in comic history. I agree, there was no reason to include her in the film as an afterthought.

Loved the movie! Now I have to wake up to work in four hours but well worth the loss of sleep! From the preview trailers I had a feeling I might be disappointed with Venom in this movie but I was pretty darn satisfied.

Now I might be too critical but I am an ultimate Spider-man fan. Venom as well and all around Marvel guy.

Black Spider-man

I know the symbiote gives him confidence but I could have really done without the crazy dancing. And the attire and black make up. I understand the look they were trying to go for but could have really done without the make up.

Loved the sewer part with the Sandman. 2nd Goblin fight was excellent. Really portrayed the evil in him. Excellent.

Venom

Man I went crazy when the bell was ringing in the church and the symbiote attached itself away from Parker. That shot was really cool. Like how they stuck with how Brock became Venom.

Glad they made him buffer and bigger than Spider-man. Suit was good for the most part but what was up with the fangs on Brock? When he unmasked himself why in the world did they give him those teeth?

Ending of Venom was good. I knew they couldn't do the space ship thing but this was probably as good as they could. Eddie throwing himself into the symbiote was awesome. Kind of wish the symbiote disappeared and they threw Brock in jail next to none other than Kasedy (Carnage). Setting the plot for a fourth one with Carnage. Dream movie for me right there.

And Venom's classic introduction to Spider-man would have been nice. "Brock?" "There is no Brock, why don't we introduce you to our better half... We call ourselves... VENOM!"

Green Goblin

Both Spider-man battles were excellent with the second one being the best. Harry dying only made sense and was good. Also liked him coming to Spider-man's aid as he would have never defeated Venom and Sandman together at once.

Got more to say but need to catch some sleep. Going to sleep good tonight. Great movie!

i remember that they orignallly had jameson's son in the movie going to space and coming back to the city and crashing on the bridge and such but i guess they cut that part out, there were footages of this on youtube

My little brothers just got back from seeing the movie, and thier eyes were glowing. They loved it. My 12 year old brother didn't really want to go, but since my 6 year old brother wanted to see it so badly, my mom made them go together and they both came back grinning like cheese.

Now that i really think about it............what was Sam Raimi's true intention for this movie?? Was it for the hardcore fans?? the movie critics? the younger audience?? The movie had a good sense of action and an even better sense of humor. Its almost as if he changed his target audience from the previous two

I kept telling my 12 year old brother to not set his expectations too high for the movie, but he said it was great!!!!!!!!! He told me is was much better than Spiderman 2. He said Spiderman 2 had to much talking and not enough action. Its a decent response, but Spiderman 2 aimed to deliver a good story first and formost and then it settled with the action

Did Sam Raimi just want to deliver a summer blockbuster??? and not the well scripted and character developed movie hes used to with Spiderman 2??

It was going to be a blockbuster no matter what. It seems like he just tried to pack way too much in.

Well I saw it earlier tonight and I thought it was good but it could have been so much better. As others have said, where were the kick@ss scenes that are usually memorable in movies? We needed more Venom too IMO. I just thought it was, as others have said, a bit too much stuffed into the movie.

Overall I'm glad I saw it and it certainly was not bad by any means but I think it's the most poor of the 3 Spiderman movies. Yes I appreciate character development and the "talking scenes" but it seemed to me like there was too much of nothing in there. And the scenes where Peter Parker went "bad" were just funny and I thought should have been taken more seriously then they were.
