I know that this was already mentioned, but the interesting thing that I found. $299 BD players by the end of the year would really help the format out.

"Even better, the company said yesterday that by the end of the year it expects its stand-alone players to be sold at prices as low as $299 to $399.

Sony Electronics COO Stan Glasgow explained that he expects the price cuts to drive volume sales, saying "if you look at the history of DVD, $299 to $399, that's when sales really took off."
So why the hell don't they just lower it now. I find it so annoying when they charge ridiculous prices for new electronics because they think it somehow makes it "special" and claiming that the manufacturing costs somehow make the price necessary.

I could tolerate it with computers but now cameras, HD players and TV's are all following this stupid logic. Yeah OK I understand that new 100 inch plasma costs $50 000 because it's state of the art, so why can't sony or whoever explain to me why that same 100 inch plasma will cost $5000 2 years later. Parting the Red Sea seems like child's play compared to how these manufactures can magically reduce thier labour costs and overhead so quickly. Just charge what it costs + the accepted profit margin because nobody is gonna spend $50 000 for that plasma so stop playing games and wasting the consumers time and charge now what you plan to charge in 2 years. It just seems so pointless. If they start doing this in the car industry, I'm gonna start walking. OK rant over.

I know, I know. LOL! This sucks as now I'll really want one with these titles coming. Hope I win big in Vegas this weekend, than some extra money can help pay for the HD-DVD.

LOL, it's cool. Yeah, it's a great lineup! I can't wait for some of those. I can't believe "Legend" is on there, I have the Tangerine Dream disc now, I hope they put all that stuff on there, if so, it's a definite buy just to see that movie in HD.
