Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
UPDATE: (5/31/07) We just received word from Disney late this afternoon that the Hollywood Reporter report referenced in this story is erroneous and that the studio has no current plans to release 'Lost' on Blu-ray this year.PS4: aBayBates

Same can be said for "Badder Santa", it was canceled in the same press release as well, here is a link to the full article....

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Pirates of the Caribbean discs currently outselling The Matrix Trilogy in the "Battle of Killer Apps"
Which isn't to say The Matrix is selling poorly, just that POTC is doing better. I'd take The Matrix trilogy over the POTC movies anyday, but, eh..D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True CaneComment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Agreed. If the Matrix films were selling separately, then the original would be #1 without a doubt IMOPS4: aBayBates

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Both were pretty poor sellers IMO.
POTC sold 42,000 copies so far...that's pretty bad. Matrix only 14,000 copies.
Both camps could spin this to their favor.Comment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Just got finished watching my first Blu-Ray movie. Flags of our Fathers, simply amazing. I couldn't believe how beautiful the film looked. Looks like I'll be looking at adding a HD-DVD add on for my 360 to compare the two in the near future.Comment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Just an FYI, Blood Diamond is only 14.99 on Blu-Ray at Fry's if you have one in your area or have someone that will price match it for you. I dont have a way to post the actual add but Im sure someone can.
EDIT- Here is a link to a screen of it from avs.
Here is a link to a much bigger scan of the entire page so you can print it out and bring it into another store to price match, of course its in PDF format...

Edit: Found it...
The basic suite of extras are the same, including a filmmaker's commentary, four featurettes and a music video; however, the HD DVD will include a raft of exclusive cutting-edge features not included on the Blu-ray release.
The HD DVD of 'Blood Diamond' is the first announced next-gen title to include web-enabled extras, including allowing viewers to use their players to offer opinions in Warner's online polls, as well as view other special features such as maps of conflict pertaining to war-torn areas in Africa.
Furthermore, the HD DVD boasts an In-Movie Experience (IME) video commentary with additional behind-the-scenes and interview footage. And for the first time on 'Blood Diamond,' Warner will include the new Focus Points feature that takes the viewer to exciting in-depth featurettes and production diaries.PS4: aBayBates
