Agreed. For a pretty ho-hum flick, the ending is badass.

True, but I dont feel like waiting an extra month for a few special features that I wont watch anyways. Has anyone heard if its going to be another combo on HD-DVD or not? That was my concern and considering the BR version is so cheap I cant pass it up.

Kingdom of Heaven or Crank. KOH is a better movie but there are certain spots in Crank that will put you in awe.

Guys, can you name some good websites for deals on Blue Ray movies?

I checked DVDplanet.com and the prices weren't that bad. Do you know of any other?

Well, non film-based blu-rays like some of the concert releases and Bikini Destinations: Triple Fantasy have looked better than any of the movies.

If you want a movie, then I suggest The Prestige, Casino Royale, and either POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl or Dead Man's Chest.

The cinematography in The Prestige doesn't lend itslef as demo material, but the PQ is there.

Casino Royale has mixed reviews from guys who own 1080p sets, but in 1080i, it looks sweet to me.

I've only watched POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl on blu-ray, and it's definitely in the upper echelon of what's out.

I thought POTC might be a good one... just wasn't sure if there were others that many would consider "the" Blu-Ray title to own.

I'll probably go out and pick up POTC soon. Crank was great to watch once but I don't think I would want to own it!

Scroll through the last few pages, there was a 20% off code for DeepDiscount.com I believe. Thats the best deal other then the 10.00 off with Google checkout through buy.com or Amazon has the best prices normally, assuming no websites are running a sale of some kind.

You could also check out the following link, it has them grouped by picture quality and then find the ones that appeal more to you, some people over there are taking it too seriously and thus have caused the OP to stop doing it but its still a useful resource...

EDIT- Almost forgot, Black Hawk Down and Apocalypto both have a great picture with good action.

Apparently Blood Diamond looks mediocore at best on BR according to the following postings, and am actually thinking of waiting for the HD-DVD version now considering the price will be the same it would appear.

WB catering to the lesser spec (HDDVD) and it shows...

On a link over at hidefdigest.com it said that starting in 08 Toshiba is gonna put hd dvd drives in all their laptops. I think that will be a nice move.
