i'm a member at dvdtalk.com forums and there is a sale/trade thread for movies and the guy has a big long list of hd dvd's he is selling for $14/movie shipped and I asked him if I bought 3 if he would sell take $40 even and he agreed. They aren't brand new, but those guys take that shiot seriously over there, so I'm not worried.

Not sure if this the place to ask this but, has anyone tried one of those switch boxes for HDMI, I can get one cheap through work for 50.00 but have no experience with them at all and dont want something cheap that will cause me to lose any clarity due to signal loss. Thanks in advance, a lot of this is greek to me.

I have a HDMI switch. It's digital to digital, so there's no signal loss.

Here's an interesting side-by-side comparison of DVD, HD-DVD, and Blu-ray..

Leaked list of upcoming HD-DVDs. Includes titles such as:

              Blade
              Band of Brothers
              Deadwood: Season One
              Dark City
              American Pie
              Forest Gump
              Friday
              Seven
              The Exorcist
              The Goonies
              The Shawshank Redemption

              etc., etc.

It's a huge list--check it out. Also, keep in mind these are not necessarily exclusive titles, just scheduled as coming soon on HD-DVD.

yeah I saw this posted on dvdtalk last night. according to the posts, the list is very old, but has had some stuff added to it recently. Band of Brothers in HD DVD is enough reason to buy the hd add on IMO. That miniseries is the best. Also looking forward to Seven and American Pie.

Since it's been updated, it's still relevant, I guess.

                    Anywho..for the blu-ray crowd:

Samsung has dropped the price on the BD-P1000 to $899, but retailers have gone even further such as Circuit City and Best Buy offering it at $799.

                    The winner?

                    Amazon's $569.99 price tag.

I was just reading on HighDefDigest.com that The Descent is having problems on the Blu Ray players but not the PS3 due to updated firmware, that's funny.

My buddy told me at Best Buy that they've sold now 6 Blu Ray players at their store since launch... since launch! Not counting PS3's of course.

Nice bonus with Once Upon A Time In Mexico, I'm one of few fans of that.

If only Desperado was announced. Peak condition Selma Hayek in HD = the goods.

I work at BB.. Our store can't keep the HD DVD players in stock.. You can't give a Samsung BR player away.. But the Sony BR player is selling well too..
