I wonder how much these players are going to cost. Over $1500 possibly?

Well how many units are you getting in stock anyways? At my store we are lucky to get 2 units in, and for the longest time we didnt have any at all. Not to start anything, I actually own the A2 but considering the price point on the Blu-Ray player and the fact that so many have gotten it on the PS3 already, it doesnt surprise me that its struggling to sell. The only things that will move the hardware will be a price drop which wont happen or some more companies jumping ship to Blu-Ray only, like what Fox and Disney have done already.

Very nice, very nice. I hope they do the hybrid disc for The Matrix trilogy.

so what, like BR on one side, HDDVD on the other? That'll probabl be $40 a movie.

Yeah, that's my guess, sort of what Universal has done with DVD on one side, and HD-DVD on the other.

This week I've watched a few HD DVD's and Blu Ray's, I have to say, HD DVD is the winner at this point, just seem to have a little more oomph to them and the menus/extras are blowing away Blu Ray.

yeah i haven't personally seen a blue ray yet and won't until i eventually get a ps3. I have a 1080p so i'm interested to see what that looks like. But the hd dvd menu stuff is very cool.

Has anybody watched The Sopranos on either, yet? Netflix moved it out of my Queue to the "Saved" column.

Anyone looking to demo their Blu-Ray audio capabilities would be wise to check out Black Hawk Down. WOW. The movie won an Oscar for Best Sound and its uncompressed PCM 5.1 soundtrack is just absolutely fierce. With all the gunfire and shouting from all over, the mix is just hyper-aggressive from start to finish. Highly recommended as an audio demo disc - and a great film to boot.

I'm going to wait to buy it until they release the special edition, with the features from the 3 disc DVD I already own. But I rented it and was blown away.

I haven't seen it, but a friend of mine is in it, so I have to pick it up.

I'm getting 15 BRD movies this week.

I guess you read into my wording too much, Crank will be the first movie that I buy on BRD sometime this week.
