Guys, I will admit that after fighting the HD era of DVD for both BD and HD-DVD, I guess I was wrong. I have seen a few HD-DVD movies on display at Best Buy and they look mighty good. I have had the PS3 since a week after launch and only watched 2 movies (MIS3 & Kingdom of Heaven) on my LCD. Those movies looked really nice.
After some advice from EG the other day, I decided to take the PS3 from my office off of the LCD and hooked it up to my RPHD. Holy Crap do the movies look slightly better than my LCD. So far I have purchased Crank and Underworld: Evolution, the details and colors are so vibrant, clean, and unbelievable. I had some coupons/discounts from Amazon, so today I bought Superman 1, Superman 2-Donner Cut, Superman Returns, and The Transporter for $76 shipped. I should have them on Friday, so this will be one busy weekend of enjoying some HD movies.

I can stomach movies at $19.99 and even $24.99 for BD, but $29.99 and above sucks. But I've gone through this already as an early adopter of DVD when it first came out on the market. I remember the most I paid for a movie back then was one of my favorite movies of all time, Army of Darkness: LE which was $50. I had no wife, kids, or major responsibilites at the time so spending that on a movie was ok. I hope by the end of the year if not earlier we get a price drop on the movies. More people might be inclined to jump aboard.
Now if some of my favorite titles on HD-DVD would come to BD, which might never happen, then this would be awesome.
