Yes, unless Lions Gate changes their tune soon then it will only be on Blu-Ray for the time being atleast.

Ouch, that hurts. Luckily, I have both, but I don't want to be buying a lot of movies, just in case one of them goes the wayside... I don't want to have obsolete movies, you know? This is crazy.

Well if studio support stays the same regardless of sales figures on the players themselves then Toshiba and all the HD-DVD supporters are in trouble. Until quality Blu-Ray players come down in price to compete price wise with HD-DVD I think both will be around for awhile but if HD-DVD doesnt gain more studio support then they will eventually fall to the wayside in my opinion, unfortunatly it seems like Disney, Lions Gate and Fox are hell bent on riding Sony until the wheels fall off.

EDIT- Apparently Fox has announced that they will release Season 1 of Prison Break and 24 in early 2007 on Blu-Ray but no price point was announced, whereas supposendly ABC is releasing Lost Season 1 on Blu-Ray and the rumored price point on it is 199.99 which seems like a joke or mis-communication on someones part.

Hmmmm... that's really too bad for the consumers. In the meantime, I guess it's a good thing to have both players. I hate it though. Eventually, I'll have to side with one or another... I just hope not to have "too" many built up in my collection to which ever one loses.

The $199.99 pricepoint on Lost season 1 may be accurate, but it will likely just be the MSRP, not the actual price. That is still a lot, though. I do know that the Sopranos season 6, part 1 sets on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD are priced comparably to that. The thing that makes it seem exorbitantly high, though, is that all HBO sets on regular DVD are priced so much higher than standard network show season sets. Who knows if that pricing structure will carry over into these formats, though. Even if it is, I suspect you won't see stuff like Lost and 24 any cheaper than 80-100 dollars.

It's coming out on both BD and DVD. I'm still debating between the BD or DVD.

I think I'll pick it up on Blu-Ray, so I can test out the ole PS3 player. Next release, I'll pick up on HD-DVD.

Don't buy BD's or HD DVD's at brick and mortar stores though, you'll get robbed. I ordered Crank from Amazon, got it for $23 shipped....it's like 30 bucks at Best Buy plus tax.

I get 20% off at the local Sam Goody store, so it'll come out to around $24... not too bad. I'll take it.

Yeah, if you get a discount, or there's a special deal, then obviously it's good to use them, but otherwise, BB and CC way overcharge for the discs.

Oh, I agree... I was thinking, these guys are nuts...yesterday. The prices on these things are crazy. I'll definitely not be buying them in bulk like I did DVD's.. these will run into some major money.

                          It's $24.99 at BB today + I have a 10% off coupon.

I will go the Amazon route for SAW 2 and 3 at the end of the month.
