Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
EDIT- Apparently Fox has announced that they will release Season 1 of Prison Break and 24 in early 2007 on Blu-Ray but no price point was announced, whereas supposendly ABC is releasing Lost Season 1 on Blu-Ray and the rumored price point on it is 199.99 which seems like a joke or mis-communication on someones part.Last edited by The Chef; 01-08-2007, 09:47 PM.Comment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Hmmmm... that's really too bad for the consumers. In the meantime, I guess it's a good thing to have both players. I hate it though. Eventually, I'll have to side with one or another... I just hope not to have "too" many built up in my collection to which ever one loses.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
The $199.99 pricepoint on Lost season 1 may be accurate, but it will likely just be the MSRP, not the actual price. That is still a lot, though. I do know that the Sopranos season 6, part 1 sets on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD are priced comparably to that. The thing that makes it seem exorbitantly high, though, is that all HBO sets on regular DVD are priced so much higher than standard network show season sets. Who knows if that pricing structure will carry over into these formats, though. Even if it is, I suspect you won't see stuff like Lost and 24 any cheaper than 80-100 dollars.Comment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Don't buy BD's or HD DVD's at brick and mortar stores though, you'll get robbed. I ordered Crank from Amazon, got it for $23 shipped....it's like 30 bucks at Best Buy plus tax.Comment

Yeah, if you get a discount, or there's a special deal, then obviously it's good to use them, but otherwise, BB and CC way overcharge for the discs.Comment
