Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Where does it rate on the EG-o-meter?
For those unfamiliar, EG employs a complex 1-10 movie rating system where 1 means there are no bloodthirsty clowns, and 10 means the movie is virtually inundated in bloodthirsty clowns. Most of his favorite movies rank at least a 7 on this scale. It would have got a 9, had it had a clown in it.

I guess the BD camp is counting on you to read the box and say, "Wow, beyond high definition! This must be better than HD-DVD!"Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Personally, I have both, love both, but prefer my movies on HD-DVD due to features and encoding.
The movies look basically identical though.Comment

It's also worth noting that since the 360 add-on has no HDMI, you can't send True HD or DTS-HD to a receiver. The PS3 has HDMI 1.3, which means it can output True HD, DTS-HD, Lossless PCM Audio, etc.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
:y4: Yeah, I know, just had to clarify.
Anyway, I just finished watching Blackhawk Down... man, I forgot how much of a tearjerker ending it was. When the credits get ready to roll, and they read the letter from the soldier to his wife... WOW.
Overall, EXCELLENT movie. The sound was freakin awesome, and the picture quality, while not up with Crank, was still really good. I'd recommend it to anyone.Twitter - WTF_OS
