Alright, I'm looking to get an HD-DVD player to go along with my PS3. The 360 add-on isn't really an option because my 360 is in another room of my house and I'm probably taking it with me to college in a year which would leave my parents without the player, so I was wondering how cheap HD DVD players were now and if there was any good deals going on now.

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
There are a lot of HD DVD standalone owners here who could better answer you, but I'm sure I have seen Toshiba A1 and XA2 (or A2?) in the $200-400 price range. Try Amazon.
Also, remember the free HD DVD deal for when you pick one up.D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True CaneComment

Both are excellent players, I have the A2 and have enjoyed it since getting it at the beginning of the year.Comment

I have to disconnect my wireless adapter before watching the Transformers movie. It has some type of "web enabled" feature on the disc and the movie freezes at that screen, which comes up right at the beginning before the menus.Great movie and picture though.

Mine took awhile the first time, about 2 minutes or so, since then, it fires right up. It's getting the web info, and you have to have your cookies on the HD-DVD drive turned on.Comment

Those looking for a stand alone HD-DVD player, this was posted at Highdefdigest.com. The Toshiba A2 could be had for $198. That is a really good price on this item.
