"MGM has also sent an April 3 street date to retail outlets for its next two upcoming Blu-ray titles, the horror classic 'The Silence of the Lambs' and its sequel 'Hannibal.' No official press release has yet been sent out for either title, so no word on specs just yet."

MGM has yet to release a single special feature on any BD release, I still have my Criterion version of Silence, no DVD release since has touched it for the features.

Criterion DVD releases are the best....I don't have the Criterion Silence DVD, I have the MGM release.

WB finally releases uncompressed audio for Blu Ray with The Departed.

That being said, I'll pick up the HD-DVD version.

                Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread

Well, I just hit the mother load. There's a random movie place across the parking lot from where I work called Movies 4 Less. So today I have some time to waste, so I go over there to check it out. First thing I see is MI:3 special edition on sale for 7.99. I'm thinkin hmm, that's nice. Then I see the new releases. Pretty much everything that's come out the past month or 2 is $11 (Descent, Jackass 2, Covenant, WTC, etc etc). So i walk around, don't see any BD or HD, so I ask the guy and he points me to a little side rack.

I see Batman Begins in HD, which I've been meaning to pick up for a while. I say to myself, if it's $19.99 I'm buying. It was $14. Then I see Troy HD for $14. Then I see Lord of War BD for $14. I was like a damn kid in a candy store. They had mi3 BD for $19, but I passed considering I have the SD 2 disc and have already seen it on hd dvd via BB online. Needless to say, I'll be hitting up this place regularly. He said they get new HD/BD stuff in every couple of weeks. There's also another one in east Knox I'm gonna have to hit up as well.

$40 for 3, not too shabby.

LOL, that's actually what I was thinking about doing. They definitely had more HD DVD's than BR. Off the top of my head for BD I remember seeing mi3, four brothers, underworld evolution, a couple of animated movies, nacho libre, lord of war, and there were more.

hd i don't really remember any other than batman and troy which I bought the last of, lol. oh yeah, ant bully.

If you guys are looking for something and can't find it, let me know. I'm gonna go check out the other store across town sometime this week.

For $14, just send me a PM and let me know what BD's you find... that's a steal. Especially since shipping shouldn't be TOO much from you to me.

Yeah I'll let you know. Well technically they're $14.99, but I think $14 sounds so much better.

$14 is cheap. Whey were they getting rid of their BD movies so soon?
