I'm on my Macbook Pro as we speak. Just wondering which file to use for word documents. Does anyone use Open Office? I'm not going to go out and buy Microsoft Office for Macs either, lol. Thanks.

Re: Apple Mac Lovers
I love my 13" MacBook Pro. Got it last summer and use it daily. Screen is wonderful and I got the Speck SeeThru Satin Black case for it. I got Office through my grad school and it works perfectly for me.
Highly recommended from me....but I'm a Mac-Head!XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Re: Apple Mac Lovers
Can someone give me an idea of the difference between 2.53/2.66 with the i5 processor and the 2.66 core 2 duo processor?
Is the difference like night and day? is the i5 like a crazy amount better?
Im waffling between the 13 inch MBP and the 15 Inch, The intended purpose is like typical school use, watch videos/itunes movies on it, Ill install the CS4 package using photoshop, etc with it, but beyond that not much else. I have a IMAc at the house and if im not mistaken, the 13 inch mbp actually seems to have more in it, I know I only have 2 gigs of ram in my imac but the mbp comes standard with 4.
any help would be great, I just dont want to blow all this money on something I will be let down by when if i drop a few hundred more Ill get what i need.
i also dont want to spend extra money when i dont have to...Comment

My wife and I may be purchasing a Macbook Pro in the near future. Is there any reason to delay the purchase? I didnt know if any new innovations or changes were being made. Specifically to the 15 inch MBPCheck out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

Re: Apple Mac Lovers
It will probably be updated again in late October/early November. So if I were you, I'd buy now. The changes won't be that major because the 15 inch has already been upgraded to i5 processors.Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. <title>Enter text here.</title>Would any of you guys happen to know a good backpack with a laptop compartment to carry around campus? I'm planning on just getting a sleeve for my Macbook Pro (15-inch) and was looking at purchasing a new backpack. No thanks to those man purses, I don't want any of those over-the-shoulder carry ons. Thanks.Comment

Re: Apple Mac Lovers
Just about to buy a MBP and had a few more questions. Trying to decide between high end 15 inch or 17 inch. Will be using for grad school. Is 17 inch too big to be portable? Also, as far as processors go, will I notice any difference between i5 and i7? Last question is on the RAM. Comes with 4 GB which is a huge upgrade from my 768 MB I have now. But I don't use my PC for any video editing now whereas the MBP will be used to edit pictures and photos from new camcorder with iMovie. Will 4 GB be adequate?
Thanks to anyone who can help.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

4GB of RAM is plenty for pretty much everything. I've done video editing (my degree is in Video Production and I currently work for a tv station) with anything from 768 MB to 2 GB on various computers. Especially if all your going to use is iMovieComment
