Wait until you ding that iPhone and need to take it in with a problem.

Post about your love for Apple then when they void your warranty.

the cord isn't your typical pc chord. It's magnetic so if you trip over it it just disconnects. One of tons of well thought out designs on mac's.

Ya its defintely something totally different than anything on any other laptop, and has saved my mac a couple of times...

Yeah, great design but the price pisses me off because normally I'd just have gotten a power cord for home so I don't have to bring mine back and forth from work (when I work at home)...but at 85 bucks it's not worth me spending the money. Just seems crazy that a power cord for a laptop is more expensive than some of their music players.

It's a bit pricy, but to be fair, it's also the power supply for the computer. The Dell equivalent will run you $55-65 or so depending on the computer.

lately I have been seriously looking into getting an imac. i mean im trying to find reasons not to but I cant. I have a question aboutairport, is this better than my PC hooked up to a router? the guy at apple store says yes but hes trying to sell me stuff, is it the same thing or is it more advanced???

It's a wireless connection method.

You technically will not be able to achieve the same transfer speeds as a wired connection. The freedom of connectivity is nice.

You will need a wireless router in conjunction with an airport.

I think it's better. I have a MacBook Pro and the AirPort is awesome.

But you can use other people's signals! I have a friend who does that. It would save me about $500/year though.

Got a MBP for school, and my cousin got a MacBook. Best decisions we ever made. Can't wait for the Leopard OS release next month, it looks incredible. The main knock I always heard about Macs were that they didn't have as much software options as MS. BULL, the actual software library may be much smaller than for Microsoft OS's, but the quality of the programs that are available generally blow MS out of the water. SO many free, or cheap programs that do so many cool and useful thing, and do them flawlessly. You just got to know where to look.

If your lucky enough to have a wireless N router, then the Airport wireless connection will essentially be identical to a wired Ethernet connection. Either way, its a very solid and fast wireless adapter. I've never wired my Mac to the internet, always wireless.

I wouldn't ever rely on that. Imagine if their signal fails and/or they secure their connection. You're then left with no internet access on a day you may need it.

My friend did the same thing in his apartment building but eventually he had to pay for internet access as I'm guessing the owners either wised up or cut it off.
