I hear they do not have all of the bugs and garbage that goes on with Windows and Vista related issues. I am looking to spend no more than 3k on it - All I plant to use it for is wife's working from home laptop and family vid's/pics. That's it - (same as the Dell)...

Is there a good one I should target specifically? Any help is appreciated -
No need to come anywhere close to 3K. I'd suggest one of the new MacBook Pro's. The 13 inch or 15 inch. http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

If you do decide to get one and ever have any questions just PM me. It will be a bit confusing at first if you've never used a Mac before, but once you get the hang of it the OS really shines and is actually very simple to understand.

Now that you plan to enter the land of Mac never NEVER refer to is as a "PC".

Are the new MacBook pros good for gaming? I have my ASUS Gaming PC, but am considering getting a MacBook as they look less cumbersome and buggy than my laptop.

Also do Macs use XP or Vista?

Macs use OS X....you can load Windows by using Bootcamp, but OS X is so much better than anything M$ puts out

Ha! LOL!! Thanks guys - I have to get out of that "PC" mindset. Hard to do when you have never had one.

I went to the Apple store today and I believe I am settling on the New Macbook Pro (15in). Looks like a pretty solid machine and has a lot of good stuff out of the box. The wife really liked the tools you can use for video's and pictures. Question - Apple is selling them for 1699.00 - Best Buy looks to be doing the same. Anyone know if there is any other better locations to pick one of these up? The wife is doing the whole "let's make sure no one has it cheaper before we buy it" thing.... so I am doing my due dill. here....

Nope, all Apple products have to be sold at a set price. So it doesn't matter where you buy it.

I'm very very close to pulling the trigger on a 15-inch Macbook Pro.

Just got one question since the Apple retail store is closed? Anyone know if they accept business discounts in the retail store? I know they do online as long as I go through my business Web site portal which links to Apple but I'm not sure about in-store. I prefer to get it at the store VS waiting two weeks for shipping.

Also should I purchase the extended warranty? Usually I wouldn't for a computer but seeing the price of the Macbook Pro, I'm wonder if I should. Thanks guys.

Why do people buy Mac's? To me they seem like nothing but shiny, expensive, internet browsers.

That's entirely up to you. You have to make that choice however the Mac's reliability is outstanding. I've worn Macs to the ground and the things just wont die. I just give them away afterwhile, or sell them when I just can't resist the urge to upgrade.

Whats the advatage of a PC?

A system that's built with crappy OS in Vista that's full of bugs and runs like crap due to the OS being a system memory hog. Vista not user friendly while Leopard OX very user friendly.

                                Hmm, let me see....
