Bought myself an Iphone 3GS the other day, does Jailbreaking it effect the peformance like slowing down txting/internet etc.

Jailbreaking has nothing to do with your warranty. You're all over the place.

Jailbreaking has everything to do with a warranty, it voids it..... What I was simply saying is apple has no right to void your product warranty if u go to a outside company to fix it if they won't fix it... Point plank and simple

Ummm I think most companies void the warranty if you take it to someone else or try to fix it yourself.

Yeah I guess ur right, either way, I don't need warranty from apple, just use my insurance or pay out of pocket, no big thing at all

No it doesn't, all you have to do is restore it to factory settings and Apple has no idea it was ever jailbroken.

Apple can actually tell if they look hard enough, but yeah I know we can restore it.... It still voids warranty...but I don't really care about that because I hate apple stock products, software needs some serious revamping, but I get all that from the jailbroken community, jaibroken for life!!!

The warranty never covers user abuse. You cracked the screen; just like with any other product, you are screwed. It's not a company's fault you were negligent.

Apple Care covers pretty much any other thing that can go wrong plus you if you go in store, they typically swap the item out for you on the spot.

Well this isn't technically true. I had my iPod cords wrapped around it and the earbud parts were on the screen and I didn't realize it til I pulled it out of my pocket but somewhere along that time the iPod pushed up against my leg in my pocket and the earbuds cracked the screen and when I called Apple I told them my screen was cracked and I have no idea how. I sent it in and got an email back and get a brand new one.

I had it happen again where I dropped the iPod and the harddrive failed and corrupted. I called Apple told them it froze I restarted it, it said plug into iTunes and would not restore. Again I sent it in and received a new one.

This is the reason I've used cases, there was no misuse damage to it (dropping it etc.) or water damage so there was no true proof I did something wrong, and it looked more like a failure of the product.
But then again this was an iPod not an iPhone.

If it's an alarm you have for work (ie. most likely every day), why not have it as a recurring alarm? Those ones went unaffected.
