Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I have iPhone Explorer. I didn't know you could sync using that. I can update my phone us it also?
So we can have custom text tone or just ones you can buy through iTunes?Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
You should be able to drag and drop files in it. I was able to before. Have not used it in a while though.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Unless you use iTunes to download music it doesn't automatically add stuff from other sources. So if I drag music from my download folder to my phone. If I set it up to sync automatically it will take that off. Why's it useless?
It does everything I need (or want) it to. Provides a library for my music, has a great podcast directory, and allows me to buy/rent TV shows or movies when I have the urge, all while seamlessly syncing all my media and info (contacts/calendar/mail, etc) to my iPhone.
Then again I managed to have all my apps and music wiped out and my brother didn't. So I probably just don't know what I am doing.Comment

Yes, this worked for me... thanks!
Was annoying twice getting to 668.7/668.8 MB and getting the "error".
Thank goodness my internet is blazing fast.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I can see every app that was previously on my phone now on iTunes because it had me transfer them over before the update. How do I get them back over? The sync button does nothing and highlighting and dragging them also does nothing.Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Don't get why they released this in the middle of the day. Should have done in in the middle of the night. Everyone is awake and ready to update all at once. At night you can pretty much split up the user base and not risk an overload.Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Wow, my iPhone alone took until 1:15 until around 2:45. Didnt even do my iPod yet."Okay, here's the story. I come from the gutter. I know that. I got no education... but that's okay. I know the street, and I'm making all the right connections. With the right woman, there's no stopping me. I could go right to the top."

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Ryan I'm in the same boat as you. I tried pre-ordering but due to me not being the primary account holder I couldn't get around to it. I walked into a verizon store by my office and was told to leave my name and # and they would call if stock was available. They made it seem like there would be enough stock to go around, I think the fact that so many people pre-ordered lessened the amount of pressure these stores are going to face. At least that's what I am hoping for. What I'm asking is how early do I have to camp out in front of an Apple/AT&T store Thursday/early Friday to be able to get a phone without a preorder? Or do you have to have it preordered to even get it on release day?
I'm a noob at all this - my parents got me my current iPhone as a graduation gift, so I've never navigated this whole "trying to buy on release day" process.
It basically all depends on your store's location/popularity. I think it is worth a phone call to the store asking them if they have had a lot of inquires as to the new iPhone and whether or not they anticipate selling out. That should help gauge how early you need to start camping.Go Yankees
