Right after his watch beeps, around the 1:27-1:28 mark of the youtube video, you can see a small splash down on the right side of the screen and as soon as it splashes, the camera moves away. I saw it in the theater too. Much easier to see it that way

I looked and didn't see a thing.

Apparently Jason was a fantasy football follower.

JJ Abrams and Co. seriously went all out on this movie. The main characters have myspaces and everything.

You all will find this funny. I sure did. Found out from messaging ESPN today that he and his friends were sitting in the row directly in front of where my friend and I were sitting. Had no idea about it since we've never met before.

Haha, that is pretty coincidental...

What would have been awesome is if ESPN had been loud and annoying the entire movie, and all you could think about was how you wanted to kick that guy's *** in the row ahead of you... only to come on here and find out it was him...

just got back from seeing it, ******* awesome.

I actually like not knowing what happens, it adds to the experience. If they come out with a more traditional movie of the events, like a godzilla type thing showing everything, I'll gladly buy tickets too.

IMO, they should add both types of experiences in the 2nd one.

I cant believe there were people that left the theater after you seen the monster the first time. People were walking out of theaters before we got in and was yelling, "Cloverfield Sucks". I liked the movie. Then when we walk out my "step sister" decides to yell the same thing. We went with four people, 2 of us liked it, the other two hated it.

To each his own. I loved it. Although the 2 things that bothered me was the size discrepancy of the monster as well as the three final people after the helicopter crash could not see or hear the 30 story monster standing right there.

I came away unimpressed.

I felt like we never saw a really, really good glimpse of the monster. Maybe I'll feel better once it's out on DVD and I can watch it again.

I think not getting a good glimpse of the monster is what made the monster scarier. They could have even showed it less as far as I'm concerned. Your imagination is always more horrifying than reality.

The one thing that bothered me was that they didn't really explore what happened with the bite. They showed it prominently in the ads and trailers leading up to the movie, but then the totality was what we saw in the trailer. I was just hoping for more from that aspect because of the hype, but I guess that's what sequels are for.

Any word on how much money this movie made on its opening weekend?
