I didn't see anything pop out of her when it happened. I just thought they wanted to contain her so her flying little giblets didn't land on any open wounds which we all over.

I figure with all the open wounds being attended too in there, the last thing anyone wants is her blood or infected pieces in some poor sucker lying around.

Exactly... if a monster would have popped out it would have been all over the two soldiers that were back there with her.

I just saw this last night - loved it.

There was a sudden explosion that came from Malena's body when she was behind the plastic. ...then a ton of blood suddenly splattered the plastic. Remember? It made me think of that scene in Alien when the alien came outta that guys chest.

Didn't Abrams say it was asleep at the bottom of the ocean for thousands of years or something?

Did you see the last scene of the movie where it showed them filming together at the beach (Rob and Beth) and in the background you could see a huge meteor or something come crashing down out the sky and landed in the water. The tape was dated in April so the creature (which 'm sure it was supposed to be, otherwise why show that) was only in the ocean for about a month.

Now I caught it at the end but my girlfriend didn't.

In that very last scene they show a satellite crashing from the sky into the ocean? A satellite from outer space? But why? To further throw off the viewers? I don't get it. How do you figure it was a satellite of all things? Please tell.

I just don't get how something that big can go unnoticed by the known world.

The deepest known trench in the ocean is 6.7 miles below sea level, I think there are probably other places deeper that something can hide in.

I also recall one of the news anchors saying a satellite had fallen from the sky, during one scene when people are watching TV. It might have been the looting scene, or the scene right after the first explosion.

Someone want to verify this?

If it is an animal, it would have to be, reportedly, much larger than even a Blue Whale, according to scientists who have studied the phenomenon


also, a few years ago, the Navy tracked something that was swimming very rapid under the ocean (some reports at 1,000 knots) for 3 days before losing track of it..
