Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
SpoilerHe pretty much got chewed up and spit out, but that kinda goes against what Hud's crush said in the beginning "It was eating people"
At that moment it was not only a size difference in the monster, but it went from being carpet bombed in the city on the ground, instantly gaining Michael Jordan's hops to slap the copter out of the air, then magically appearing in front of them not making any footstep sounds or anything.
SpoilerDude exactly. First off the monster looked awful in its close up, and totally different from earlier in the movie. Then all of a sudden it shows up without any of the military monitoring it or firing at it. And it just sort of tip-toed.. without any of the characters being able to spot it, though it's a huge freakin monster. What gives?Comment

Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
The movie didn't live up to the hype IMO, too many times I had to suspend my disbelief.SpoilerHow does Rob's "girlfriend" Beth not bleed to death, God she sounded half-dead during the first phone call? Why does every freakin' movie, in particular this Science Fiction/Horror/Monster movie, have to have its story revolve around ill-fated lovers. I say BOOOO to Hollywood's constant usage of "true love" to save their otherwise shallow plots.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

What gives?SpoilerIt makes me wonder sometimes if there were maybe two monsters. Remember the one that we see on the top of Beth's rooftop (I mean, we are on her rooftop LOL not the monster)? That monster looked much more like a T-Rex or something. Similarly, when we first get a tiny glimpse of the monster passing by the building, it has that same massive look to it.
Just a theory, possibly stupid. But it would help for a sequel.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

SpoilerTwo monsters? HA! I guess you thought of something Abrams didn't because there is no mention or even a thought of doing that whatsoever.
It was the oddest thing though how they just slipped that all in there and it was acceptable? The thing is able to grow and shrink and jump like the olympic sprinter Dave to smack the helicopter like he was touching a backboard...lol
It's just like when the guys son in 300 was killed. In the midst of all of the fighting and how the 300 were murdering the enemy, this one lone enemy soilder comes out of nowhere and chops off his head, then just rides off without opposition, none of the 300 notice except for the chop off, none of them go after him, none of them see this enemy soilder coming into their circle all alone with a sword. Yeah right!Comment

SpoilerThere are even stories of people have poles of things like that puncturing completely through their heads, but because of the positioning it doesn't kill them, nor make them bleed to death... They actually go to the hospital fully functional, almost as if nothing is wrong.Comment

Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
Just saw the movie, the hype was well placed. I thought it was perfect. It had a very realistic feeling to it which really made it intriguing. I would of liked to learn more about the monster, but i guess the focus of the movie was primarily on the group and their reaction as well as journey to get that guy's girl.
SpoilerHowever the ending left me feeling upset, it didn't really tie up anything or conclude anything. We don't even know if the monster is dead, and who found the camcorder?Last edited by marshallfever; 01-25-2008, 12:25 PM.Comment

Well considering at the beginning it's got "Property of U.S. Government" and "Case Designate: Cloverfield" all over it, I think it's safe to assume the military found it.Comment

Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
wow, my wife thought there were 2 monsters, also...I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment
