Spoke too soon... the iClassics are now available for purchase and ship in the next day or so. Damn it.

That's not as crazy a purchase as the touch though...with the iClassics you're getting a big iPod, same video as before, same control as before, at a standard price...the iTouch just seem too expensive for what you get IMO

Damn, that iPod nano is completely ugly. Wow that thing is as ugly as I thought it would be....

I'm holding off on the 80gb classic and will take a trip to the store this weekend. Want to see it in person. The aluminum casing looks completely dull to me. I really like the new UI though.

I wonder if you can see lyrics in the iTouch...

I have 40 GB's of music alone. I cant even consider an ipod touch.

I have about 60+GB's worth of music on my PC.....so I need a larger player.

That's not as crazy a purchase as the touch though...with the iClassics you're getting a big iPod, same video as before, same control as before, at a standard price...the iTouch just seem too expensive for what you get IMO

I might go with the classic 80gb. itouch is not worth it for the small amount of space that your getting.

apple.com forums are back up and wow, it's pretty ugly. Somebody posted that apple was deleting posts as fast as they could. This could get interesting. Somebody also posted that they did the same thing with some software a while ago and issued gift cards to equal the difference.

As much as this sucks, I'm sure I'll never see anything. I wouldn't be bothered if it was just $50 or $100, but $200...damn

Some people are saying that the stores that they bought it from will match the price if the phone was bought in the last 14 days.

Seriously, I'd complain and call customer support and see what they can do. I'm sure everyone is outraged. That's just not right to drop the price of the phone $200 in 2 months... It's not like the technology got cheaper... they just really took advantage of early adopters. That's wrong. It's one thing if they introduced a newer model.... but to just drop the price?

Another possibility is that they are dropping the price drastically to set up the market for a new more expensive model with 3G, Java and a few other things coming out around Christmas. I doubt that will happen, but you never know. I mean at least give me an iTunes gift card or something.

Yeah, I'd be livid too...

Honestly I'm surprised that this many people are mad. Usually Apple doesn't face the backlash somehow, it's amazing how Teflon-ish they are.

Well a 33% cut after 2 months is a lot, even for Apple. I'm not even mad about it, but the more and more I think about it, I just think it's kind of ****ty

MUST HAVE iPOD TOUCH. This is exactly what I was hoping for once the iPhone was released. It even has the wifi, browser, Google, and now a wireless iTunes store. NICE! Also its smaller than the iPhone. Just really hope that the 3rd party apps made for the iPhone will work on the iPod Touch. Seeing as it seems to be the exact same OS I would expect them too.
