Watched Sin City on BR tonight. Quite impressive, especially whenever there was a splash of color.

The Kingdom scores 4.0 at Blu-Ray.com

The Kingdom is a professionally-crafted film that features a story packed with emotion, intrigue, and action. Evolving naturally and logically, the story never forces one element, and allows the action in particular to work its way into the story rather than being forced on viewers weary of such tactics employed to make up for less-than-gripping drama in far lesser films. Well-acted and directed, and featuring a fine score by composer Danny Elfman (Planet of the Apes), The Kingdom is a can't-miss movie. Likewise, this Blu-ray from Universal is another quality release from a studio quickly establishing itself as one of the format's best. Featuring top-notch picture quality and a fine soundtrack, not to mention a nice selection of bonus materials, The Kingdom is a Blu-ray disc worth owning. Recommended.
              Full review here.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, go out and rent or buy this Blu-Ray. Its amazing on HD-DVD, gotta make the switch along with Lucky # Slevin and Shooter.

Have any of you guys seen 'The Fall'? It stars Lee Pace, the Pie-maker from 'Pushing Daisies' and the trailer's visuals are simply astounding...reminding me of 'Pan's Labyrinth'.

I'm just wondering if it's all a visual stunner with a shallow plot. I'd like to see it on Blu-ray which is why I'm asking here.

I havent seen that movie myself but its already out on Blu-Ray, BR.com gave it a 4.5.

A fabulous film replete with dazzling imagery and whimsical touches - even Charles Darwin is bedecked in a furry red coat and accompanied by an intelligent pet monkey named Wallace - The Fall is an excellent choice for high definition, and I for one am only too glad that Sony Pictures elected to give this relatively known film the Blu-ray treatment. A spectacle in every sense, The Fall's wild visual composition does not compensate for a lack of substance - to the contrary, the plot is delicately told and features authentic performances from the cast. This especially applies to Untaru, who truly did not know English at the production's outset and lacks the annoyingly polished cutesiness of most Hollywood child actors. Combined with a lovely visual and aural presentation on Blu-ray Disc, The Fall is quite highly recommended in all!

I use that all of the time, but normally I'll buy a Blu-ray regardless because they may not witness the same things that I do. For instance, they scored Die Hard's visuals a 3 out of 5, and while they're understandably outdated, they actually looked much better than I expected. For a site that also gave Gangs of New York a 2, I don't really think anything else should even come anywhere close in the ratings department, which means GONY should either be a half-star, or everything else should be much higher.

Another example, of every review that I have read, is that nobody else seemed to notice the utterly annoying crackling on the Street Kings disc. I posted it on the AVS Forums and other people said they witnessed it as well, so it's not just my disc or my setup. Pisses me off that they don't catch this kind of stuff.

I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere so I'll just ask here, does it really matter wich HDMI port it's plugged into? Is there something better about the HDMI 2/DVI?

I watched this on Thanksgiving with the family. It's directed by the same guy who directed The Cell with Jennifer Lopez. It's different with a good plot. The story keeps you in the movie & Yes the visuals are beautiful.

I asked this question once on the AVS Forums, and I believe that HDMI 2 is set up to have a slightly faster refresh rate or something like that... so it's better suited for gaming (I suppose movies as well). HDMI 1 is more for cable I guess.
