LOST fans, S4 is amazing on Blu-ray and even better than S3 on BD. PQ is very good. I posted this on HDD.com, the slip cover and case are smaller than S3 so it kind of sucks that they aren't the same size.

      I need some help guys

Right now I have on amazon in my cart
Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series - $69.95
      Transformers (Two-Disc Special Edition + BD Live) - $19.99
The Dark Knight (+ Digital Copy and BD Live) - $23.99
      Total - $113.93, shipping = free

Does Amazon not charge tax? I could get about these same prices at Wal Mart, plus I have a %10 discount from friends that work there. Only problem is WM charges tax right? It would come out to only a 3% discount compared to Amazon if I have all of this right.

Is there any kind of deal I am missing on Amazon for buying over $100 in Blu Rays or something?

As a former owner of Planet Earth who traded it in, you sure you wanna shell out $70 for it. Although some review sites keep raving about the picture, I was sorely disappointed. It's not that good. Some parts are steller but about half of it contain very soft images and nothing that makes you go wow. I'm watching on a 52" Tv so maybe if yours is alot smaller it'll be OK. I found the Hidef nature stuff on Discovery and NGeo to be more impressive in picture quality.

Don't get me wrong, the show itself is very well done and the imagery is amazing at times but I'm a nature show fan and I found watching this once was enough. It's not something you really watch with your friends either. I'm just saying that if your not a huge fan of the nature series, you are probably better off renting it and saving yourself some serious cash because the video quality does not justify it's high price tag and the sound is average at best. It's also the type of BRay package that you could probably buy for half the price a year or so from now.

You guys must be watching a different version than me because the Bluray I watched was far from steller. It is an excellently produced series but the picture quality is no better than average. The jungle and Plains episodes don't even look hidef. The only stunning images were the underwater scenes. Overall the picture and sound I thought was maybe 7\10. I just don't find any documentary series' to have any replay value.

Highdefdigest gave it 5/5 on video quality so maybe your TV needs a tune up lol?

To me this has a whole lot of replay value. Breath taking cinematic images of some of the worlds greatest creatures. Not to mention some never before seen moments in nature. Not many things are more beautiful then our Planet in HD. I also love documentaries but Planet Earth is in a whole new category. It belongs on a separate shelf in the stores.

Yeah but if you read the whole review on the picture quality, they mention at the end there are instances where the source material is lacking but they wouldn't hold that against it. I just thought it was lacking alot more than they mentioned. Some scenes did look amazing but it seemed like a 50\50 split between good and bad and it's certainly not reference material as a whole.

The cinematography is gorgeous and I truly loved it the 1st time I watched it but the 2nd time bored me because the suprising stuff learned thru the show the 1st time kind of ruined any replay value for me. It's like watching the Sixth Sense twice, once you know the big twist watching it again is boring. If every episode had a pristine hidef picture it may have been more enjoyable just to look at the sharpness and clarity of the cinematography.

I know I'll probably regret it, but I'm sticking with the DVD versions of 'LOST'. Since they don't seem eager releasing the first two seasons on Blu-ray, and I'm a stickler for shelf aesthetics and don't want half DVD/half Blu-ray side-by-side, I'm going with the lower quality format (plus, it saves me some money).

I guess if Blu-ray is still going strong when Season Six ends, hopefully they'll put out the entire series in a package. I have the same feeling with 'The Sopranos', I didn't want only the final season, and the entire series pack they've put out is on DVD (which would be sweet, but I already had them seperately).

                      Oh well...

I don't own the first or second season. So jumping in with the third season was no problem for me.

Amazon shipped my copy of Dark Knight and Lost S4 on Blu-Ray today! It left Kentucky this evening. I say 50/50 chance it makes it to me tomorrow.
